Running or not! 410 Winchester St. • Keene, New Hampshire 603-357-0808 • 800-848-0623 • keeneCJD.com SAVE 10% ON ALL GIFT CERTIFICATES Holiday Recipes From Our Readers No Yeast Cinnamon Rolls Dough: 2 cups of All-purpose flour 3 tablespoons of baking powder 1 teaspoon of salt 5 tablespoons of softened butter (do not melt) 3/4 cups of milk 3 tablespoons of sugar Filling: 1 cup of brown sugar 3 tablespoons of cinnamon 4 tablespoons of melted butter Glaze: 1 cups of powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 2-4 tablespoons of milk 1 teaspoon of maple syrup Add all roll ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside. Mix together the filling and set aside. Take dough and roll out into a square that is 1/4 inch thick. Spread the filling on the dough and roll up. Cut the roll into 2 inch rolls and place in a buttered 8x8 pan. Bake on 375 for 28-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan and then place on a cooling rack. Marvelous Quiche Gets Award Cream Cheese Pie Ingredients: 1 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese 1 cup confect. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1 pint heavy cream Cream cheese and sugar, whip cream with vanilla, combine. Pour into graham cracker crust. Let set a day before putting on fruit glaze. Carol Ryan Rindge Ham & Cheese Muffins Ingredients: 2 cups self-rising flour* ½ tsp. baking soda 1 cup milk ½ cup mayonnaise ½ cup finely chopped, fully cooked ham ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese In large bowl, mix flour, baking soda. Combine remaining ingredients; then stir into dry ingredients. Fill greased or lined muffin cups 2/3s full. Bake at 425 degrees, 16-18 minutes. Goes great with soup. *As a substitute for each cup of self-rising flour, place 1 ½ tsp. baking powder and ½ tsp. salt in a measuring cup then fill the cup with all-purpose flour to equal 1 cup. Candace Jantti Hinsdale Marvelous Quiche Ingredients 1 9-inch unbaked pastry shell 1 tbsp butter (room temp) 8 oz. bacon slices 1 cup finely chopped cooked turkey or chicken 1½ cups grated swiss cheese 3 eggs 1½ cups light cream or half & half 3/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp nutmeg few grains cayenne pepper Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake on the middle rack. Spread bottom of pastry shell with butter. Refriger- ate for 15 minutes. In a large heavy skillet pan-fry ba- con until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Crumble and lightly press into bottom of pie shell. Sprinkle meat and cheese over bacon. In a bowl beat eggs, cream and seasonings together until mixture is combined but not frothy. Pour egg mixture into pie shell. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for ten minutes before serving. Makes six to eight servings or 12 hors d’oeuvre servings. Dolores Durant Swanzey Cherry Almond Dutch Baby Ingredients: 1 tablespoon butter ½ cup all-purpose flour ¾ cup milk 2 large eggs 2 tablespoons sugar ½ teaspoon almond extract ¼ cup sliced almonds (optional) ¾ cup cherry preserves Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Whisk flour, milk, eggs, sugar, and almond extract together until very smooth. Melt butter in nine-inch pie plate in oven. Brush butter up sides of pie plate. Pour batter into hot pie plate. Sprinkle with almonds, if using. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake five to eight minutes longer. Remove from oven and spread with preserves. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired. No Yeast Cinnamon Rolls Dough:2 cups of All-purpose flour3 tablespoons of baking powder1 teaspoon of salt 5 tablespoons of softened butter (do not melt) 3/4 cups of milk 3 tablespoons of sugarFilling: 1 cup of brown sugar 3 tablespoons of cinnamon 4 tablespoons of melted butterGlaze: 1 cups of powdered sugar1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 2-4 tablespoons of milk 1 teaspoon of maple syrup

Add all roll ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside. Mix together the filling and set aside. Take dough and roll out into a square that is 1/4 inch thick. Spread the filling on the dough and roll up. Cut the roll into 2 inch rolls and place in a buttered 8x8 pan. Bake on 375 for 28-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan and then place on a cooling rack. Glaze to your desire.
