The health benefits of walking are numerous, including reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and obesity. A good baseline for improving health and reducing the risk of chronic disease is 10,000 steps a day (2,000 steps is approximately 1 mile). Not everyone should start out trying to get 10K a day. Instead take a comfortable, gradual approach. Walking with other sen-ior strollers provides the added benefits of a valuable support network and new friendships. We'll meet at designated walking areas on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 9:00 a.m. — May thru September. A detailed brochure is available online and at City Hall).

TWIN CITIES MICROBREWERIES The New “Gourmet” Beverage Saturday, March 10, 2012 To beer lovers, microbrew-eries and brewpubs are a tiny slice of heaven. Micro-breweries focus on quality and diverse taste rather than low price and mass marketing. Brewpubs are restaurants or pubs that have a microbrewery on the premises. Today we’ll focus on the craft of brew-ing an excellent product … as individual as the brew master that crafted it. We’ll visit two small microbrew-eries in the Twin Cities area and complete our tour at the Summit Brewery in Saint Paul where you’ll have a tour and tasting. No worries about driving – just hop on the mini-bus and leave the driving to us! Relax and enjoy the journey. Lunch will be on your own at the funky Psycho Suzie’s which also features a vari-ety of microbrews. Must be 21 years or older to par-ticipate. Register by 2/27/12. Limited availability. WHEN: Saturday, March 10, 2012 TIME: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. WHERE: Departs SLP City Hall FEE: $38/person (includes snacks, brewery

Our lovely day begins with a delicious lunch at the Old Log Theater. Please select when reg-istering one of the fol-lowing entrees: Lemon Artichoke Chicken Breast with Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Smoked Windsor Pork Chop , Walleye Pike Almandine, Beef Stroganoff or Vege-tarian Lasagna. After lunch enjoy the hilarious play "The Fox on the Fairway" starring the al-

ways funny Steve Schaffer. Bingham, the President of the Quail Valley Country Club, is in a difficult position when he discovers that the golfer he thought would

play for his club in the annual golf tournament has switched sides, recruited by his counterpart and op-ponent, and the huge bet he had foolishly wagered is now likely to be lost. Fortunately, he discovers that Justin is quite a good golfer and finagles his nomina-tion. Justin does not disappoint and has a huge lead, when close to its end the tournament is interrupted by bad weather. Much craziness ensues in this zany, extremely funny play — sure to make your day. This tour lets grandparents, parents and kids explore the world of raptors to-gether at the Audubon Center of the North-

ROMAN HOLIDAY AT THE GUTHRIE Wednesday, August 8, 2012 More than 50 years since the endlessly charming Roman Holi-day captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, the Guthrie presents a dazzling new musical based on the iconic film, featuring a full scoring of unforgettable tunes by Cole Porter. In this irre-sistibly sweet romance, a radiant young princess is on a widely publicized European tour. When the demands of her offi-cial duties and rigorous schedule become too much to bear, she sneaks away to explore the Eternal City on her own. Disguising herself as a commoner and em-ploying a fictitious name, she meets an American newspaper reporter who feigns ignorance of her true identity to land an exclusive story. But his plan crum-bles as the couple tour one of the world's most ro-mantic cities and find themselves falling in love. With one of the most enchanting love stories of all time and soul-stirring music by one of the greatest American songwriters, stamped with the indelibly chic style of

the '50s, this magical musical is a sparkling, summery treat not to be missed. We have fantastic seats for this wonderful play.
