What is CyberKnife? The world’s only roboDc radiosurgery system, CyberKnife treats paDents with a procedure called stereotac(c radiosurgery. StereotacDc radiosurgery is a noninvasive method of treaDng tumors with high-‐dose radiaDon precisely aimed from different angles.

How does CyberKnife work?

CyberKnife does not require surgery and there is no cu7ng or anesthesia required. Comprised of a compact linear accelerator -‐ a machine that generates a radiaDon beam -‐ aRached to a highly maneuverable roboDc arm. •  The machine’s roboDc arm moves around you, aiming

and firing targeted radiaDon beams from numerous angles.

•  The imaging and tracking system conDnually updates the tumor locaDon throughout the treatment procedure, compensaDng for paDent movements like breathing.

•  Treatment sessions typically last 30-‐90 minutes.

Our Center Opened in 2011, New Jersey CyberKnife at the J. Phillip CiRa Regional Cancer Center combines experienced physicians and the latest medical advances. Our state-‐of-‐the-‐art technology offers hope to paDents in New Jersey and beyond. Medical Director Dr. David D’Ambrosio specializes in advanced radiaDon treatment and therapy opDons. His experDse includes intensity-‐modulated and stereotacDc radiaDon therapies, including CyberKnife radiosurgery, head and neck cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer. He has also published several peer-‐reviewed research papers on prostate cancer and lung cancer. Our center provides the only CyberKnife technology in Ocean County New Jersey.

The US Radiosurgery Network

In partnership with Community Medical Center, New Jersey CyberKnife at the J. Phillip CiRa Regional Cancer Center is a US Radiosurgery facility. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, US Radiosurgery is a division of Alliance Oncology and partners with hospitals and physician groups around the U.S. to develop and operate full-‐body radiosurgical centers. Collec(vely, the US Radiosurgery network of centers has treated thousands of pa(ents since the opening of the company’s first center in 2003. The group of faciliDes is acDvely engaged in research, with physicians regularly presenDng papers and authoring arDcles related to the efficacy of CyberKnife treatment for various types of tumors and lesions. Tumors of the lung, brain and prostate, as well as certain funcDonal disorders such as trigeminal neuralgia, have become key treatment areas throughout the network of centers.
