COACHING STAFFHead Coach, Bill BelichickPro Career: Bill Belichick is in his 39thseason as an NFL coach and is the onlyhead coach in NFL history to win threeSuper Bowl titles in a four-year span.Belichick is currently ranked sixth on theNFL’s all-time list with 205 total victories.Hired by Chairman and CEO Robert Krafton January 27, 2000, Belichick is in his14th season as New England’s headcoach. Through 13 seasons, Belichickhas delivered three Super Bowl champi-onships, five conference titles, 10 divisioncrowns and 17 playoff victories, whileposting an overall record of 168-64.Belichick directed the Patriots to victoriesin Super Bowls XXXVI (2001), XXXVIII(2003) and XXXIX (2004), and in 2007 hebecame the first head coach to guide histeam to a 16-0 regular season. Only onecoach (Pittsburgh’s Chuck Noll, 4) haswon more Super Bowls than Belichick,and his three Super Bowl titles tieWashington’s Joe Gibbs and SanFrancisco’s Bill Walsh for second place onthe NFL’s all-time list. He has won moreregular-season games (126) and moregames overall (140) during a 10-yearstretch (2003-2012) than any other headcoach in NFL history over any decade.Belichick has led the Patriots to a winningrecord in each of the last 12 seasons, thesecond longest stretch by a coach withone franchise (Tom Landry, 16 years,Cowboys 1970-1985). In 2012, Belichickguided the Patriots to a 12-4 record, adivision title and his seventh AFCChampionship game appearance.Belichick helped the Patriots become thefirst franchise in NFL history to score 500or more points in four seasons (2007-589, 2010-518, 2011-513 and 2012-557). Belichick is the only head coach inNFL history to win at least 13 regular-sea-son games in five separate seasons.Belichick’s Patriots teams own the all-time NFL records for consecutive victo-ries, including the postseason (21 from2003-04) and consecutive playoff victo-ries (10 from 2001-05). Belichick’s 18postseason wins are third all-time, behindTom Landry (20) and Don Shula (19).Over a 100-game span from 2003-08, hedirected the Patriots to an 82-18 record –the best record for any 100-game span inNFL history. Belichick (.653) has the thirdhighest winning percentage amongcoaches with at least 150 wins, trailingonly Hall of Famers George Halas (.682)and Don Shula (.666). Belichick’s recentaccomplishments are the latest triumphsin a career during which he has helpedproduce five Super Bowl titles, eight con-ference championships and 17 divisiontitles since entering the NFL in 1975. Hewon his first two Super Bowls as thedefensive coordinator for the New YorkGiants in 1986 and 1990 before claiming

three Super Bowl championships with thePatriots. George Seifert is the only otherman to have won multiple Super Bowlsboth as a head coach and as an assistantcoach. Belichick launched his coachingcareer in 1975 with the Baltimore Coltsand continued as an assistant coach withDetroit (1976-77), Denver (1978) and theNew York Giants (1979-1990). Belichickwas named head coach of the ClevelandBrowns in 1991, becoming the youngesthead coach in the NFL at age 38. By1994, Belichick’s Browns advanced to thesecond round of the playoffs. In 1996,Belichick joined New England and was akey contributor to the Patriots first divisiontitle in 10 years en route to an appearancein Super Bowl XXXI.
