THE POWER OF PRAYER IN ADOPTION

We learned about our son, Steele, through our agency’s website as they had a program to support some orphans in China who were unlikely to be adopted and who came from very hard places. Steele was one of those sweet children, and his picture was on our agency’s website.

Later, we built a relationship with a young woman who works for our agency. In talking to her, we learned that she had spent several weeks in China caring for Steele even before we knew of him. She was so faithful to pray for Steele to have a file created and to have a family.

After comparing dates and notes, we discovered that she had written a prayer in a journal for Steele to have a forever family–and that prayer’s date was the SAME date as our application to the China program at our agency.

PRAISES• In Ukraine, praise for improved relationships with

the Matveevka orphanage administration. Praise the administration allows the kids to leave the orphanage and visit church and Christian families on the weekends.

• In Guatemala, praise for faithful supporters of Village of Hope and the completion of phase 2 of the mother/child units.

• In Liberia, praise for the mobile health clinic that visits the homes and monitors the kids’ health.

• For Gobena, praise they have a new grinder that is much faster and can fill five pound bags and praise for increased sales on Amazon and strong wholesale growth.

PRAYER REQUESTS• In Guatemala pray for the teenage moms. Pray for

health and strength and wisdom for these young mothers. Pray for funding for the third level of mother/child units and for the caregivers to share compassion, love and God’s wisdom with these precious girls.

• In India, pray for the home managers and their families. Pray for good health and wisdom. Pray they will grow in the Lord and learn to walk more closely with Him.

PRAYER REQUESTS• In Bolivia, pray for the transition girls and boys. Pray they will open their

hearts and be able to understand God’s great love for them. Pray the staff will have patience and wisdom and meet each challenge with God’s grace and compassion. Pray lives will be changed and many will come to know Christ as their personal Savior.

• In Uganda, pray for Ronnie and Ritah and baby Miracle born last week. Miracle was born at 29 weeks, weighed only 3.3 pounds, and is in the NICU. Pray they will be overwhelmed by God’s peace and grace as they celebrate and care for their tiny Miracle.

• In Zambia, pray for students in grades 7, 9 and 12 who are taking or retaking exams. Pray for clear thinking and recall. Pray for calm spirits and diligence as they study. Pray for good health and for peace with their results.

• In Ukraine, pray for the busy summer camp schedule. As the team prepares, pray for spiritual unity and wisdom and for the program to be focused on Jesus.

• In Ethiopia, pray for stability and peace. Pray for protection over the project and each child that attends Lifesong schools.

• Pray for our waiting families. Many have been in process for years and have experienced many setbacks and disappointments. Pray they do not become discouraged but continue to draw strength and hope from the Lord. Pray they will soon be matched with the child God has for their family and their wait will be over.

• Pray for the release of TFI’s Who Loves Book Series. Pray that the people who need this resource would find it and be encouraged by it and that the printing process would go smoothly.
