Neumann Contractors is a civil construction, infrastructure and dredging contractor which forms part of the NEUMANN GROUP OF COMPANIES.

Formed in 1949, The Neumann Group is a family owned business which employs over 650 people with a turnover in excess of $600 million dollars. During that time Neumann Contractors has demonstrated its management, technical and delivery skills over many diversified projects and have earned a reputation with our clients for delivering a quality project, on time and within budget.

The Company has successfully completed civil projects up to $40million in value. These projects range from subdivisions, roads & bridges, canal developments to infrastructure projects like the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Chinderah Bypass project.

Since the Company’s inception, technology, equipment and construction methodology have altered considerably. The key to the Company’s success is the fundamental Neumann philosophy of finding innovative solutions to construction challenges for Clients.

15B15B3.1 Objectives

Health and Safety is one of the fundamental business objectives of Neumann Contractors. The Neumann health and safety policy is endorsed by senior management and reinforces the Company’s commitment to provide a safe and healthy place to work on every project. A copy of the policy statement is appended.

The Health and Safety Management System for a project is represented by the Project Health and Safety Plan which will address all statutory regulations and contract requirements. Neumann Contractors is committed to meeting the following health and safety objectives:

� Ensure that safety considerations are given the highest priority in all aspects of the work.

� Strive to achieve a Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR) equal to zero.

The company has developed an extensive range of Safety Management Procedures and for each project develops a specific Safety Plan. A typical Project Health and Safety Plan will include the following.

Neumann Contractors is committed to delivering product and services to the highest standards and subscribes to the philosophy that financial, quality, environmental, safety, and human resource management are interrelated in achieving the bottom line success of the projects and services it undertakes.

The company employs expert managers in these areas to provide projects teams and their clients with project-specific risk-based management systems, which are backed–up on-site by experienced and qualified personnel.

Neumann Contractors’ quality and environmental systems were JAS-ANZ accredited* (AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004) in April 2007.

The company has a reputation for an innovative and practical approach to solutions which aims to mitigate environmental costs.

Outstanding Environmental Performance Neumann Contractors long-standing commitment to environmental management has been recognised by industry and government. In 1997 Neumann Contractors were awarded a National Case Earth Award for their outstanding innovation and management of acid sulfate soils on the Chinderah Bypass Project, NSW.

In 2004, the Lake Kawana Project in South East Queensland achieved the Queensland Case Earth Award for Environmental Excellence. The company received the award for innovations in acid water management and implementation of large scale acid sulfate soil earthworks as well as state of the art groundwater management strategies, which ensured the integrity of the local environment.
