Connecticut College controls its own destiny heading into the nal matches, as the Camels, who have a program-best seven conference victories and a 12-0 mark overall, can lock up the number-one seed with one more win. Although Tuf ts lost at Connecticut College on Saturday in a battle of unbeaten squads, the Jumbos joined the Camels in securing a home quarternal contest on May 2. Bowdoin has the busiest week of any team, taking on Bates on Wednesday before traveling to Williams on Saturday in what will be a must-win game for both teams...Amherst sophomore midelder Evan Redwood (Lutherville, Md.) recorded six points for the Lord Jeffs in a 1-1 week. During Saturday’s 12-5 victory over Colby, Redwood had a goal and three assisss... Bowdoin freshman Billy Bergner (Faireld, Conn.) had four goals and an assist in the Polar Bears’ 9-6 victory at Endicott on Saturday... Colby’s Mark Squicciarino collected three goals and two assists in a split week for the Mules. He played a part in four of Colby’s ve goals during a 12-5 setback at Amherst, scoring two and assisting on two others... Connecticut College senior attacker Steve Dachille (Garden City, N.Y .) tallied eight goals in a 2-0 week for the Camels, netting ve in his team’s 8-6 win over Tufts on Saturday. Middlebury senior attacker Pete Smith (Wilton, Conn.) posted three goals and four assists in a 2-0 week for the Panthers. After mak- ing nine stops in a 7-6 setback at Union on Wednesday, Vrla recorded 19 saves in a 6-5 overtime victory against Wesleyan on Saturday to keep the Ephs’ hopes for a home contest in the NESCAC quarter nals alive.

Stephen Vrla, Williams (Senior, Goalkeeper - Paradise Valley, Ariz.)

Vrla combined to make 28 saves during a 1-1 week for the Ephs, posting a .70

save percentage and a 5.81 goals against average over the two games. After mak

ing nine stops in a 7-6 setback at Union on Wednesday, Vrla recorded 19 save

in a 6-5 overtime victory against Wesleyan on Saturday to keep the Ephs’ hope

for a home contest in the NESCAC quarterfinals alive.
