The listed classes represent MDEs current alignment guidance related to Michigan endorsements, in relation to class titles identified by K-12 schools anddistricts. Furthermore, the alignment guidance is subject to change with new state endorsements, new class titles named by K-12 schools and districts,and Michigan curriculum expectations. This list is not meant to be all inclusive. Districts may use this document to make the best decisions for theassignment of teachers based upon the class title, a teachers certification and the CONTENT of the class. The name of a class MUST reflect the contentbeing taught. With the addition of the seventh standard to the Entry-Level Standards forMichigan Teachers, all new teachers are entering classrooms with technology knowledge and skills. The COATT and M-COATT programs arefurther strengthening the technology skills of teachers. School districts are free to assign any faculty to these classes that provide evidence ofprofessional development related to specific technology classes, as long as they hold the certificate for the grade levels in which the classes areoffered. A teacher with an elementary certificate can teach these introductory computer classes in grades K-8.
