Program Goals


1. Improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in schools

2. Assist every student to become technologically literate by the end of 8th grade

3. Encourage effective technology integration with curriculum development and high quality professional development


Allowable Activities


Access Increase access to technology,

especially with high need schools

Enhance existing technology and acquire new technology to support student achievement

Enhance connectivity to support student achievement


Tech Literacy for Students Adapt and expand technology

applications, including distance learning, to increase student achievement

Implement proven and effective technology integrated courses and curricula to help students reach challenging academic standards

Develop, enhance, or implement IT courses


Professional Development

Support ongoing, sustained, high quality PD and focus on integrating advanced technologies to create new learning environments

Prepare one or more teachers as tech leaders to assist other teachers


Community Involvement

Use technology to promote parental involvement and foster home-school communication about assignments, curriculum, and assessments.


Program Evaluation Use technology to collect,

manage, and analyze data to inform and enhance teaching and school improvement

Implement enhanced performance measurement systems to determine effectiveness of your Ed Tech program

Transferability & Flexibility


Transferability Districts can:

– Transfer up to 50% between Title II-A, Title II-D, Title IV, and Title V-A

– Transfer funds into but not out of Title I

Schools identified for improvement may only transfer up to 30% of their funds.

Schools in corrective action cannot use transferability provisions.
