Originally launched 20 years ago, our CAM software now called NCG CAM, has a long standing reputation

in many countries for advanced 3D milling.

Whilst we do have a Subscription option in some countries, our main license type is Perpetual and we

have no intention to change this.

NCG CAM is also designed to work standalone on a dedicated computer, rather than being Cloud based.

This is more efficient for complex calculations on large amounts of data and is far more secure.

Technopolis Ltd exhibited at X International Trade

Fair - PLAST EXPO UA – April 2018, in Kyiv,

Ukraine.

The exhibition focused on polymer processing

technologies, machines and raw materials, additive

manufacturing and 3D printing technologies,

equipment and materials, as well as general

engineering, metal processing, tools, welding and

cutting, foundry, surface treatment, related materials,

tooling and components.

IPM Solutions held a CAM seminar for

manufacturing companies, their management,

technologists, designers and developers

throughout Slovakia in May 2018. .

Part of the seminar included a presentation of

NCG CAM software. CNC Machining in Industry 4.0.

Axial Offset

We now allow edited passes to be axial offset, this

includes Core Horizontal Area Passes.

The axially offset passes retain any editing due to

gouge protection in the original passes.

NX Files Can Now be Read Directly

A license option has been added to read

NX files directly.

Huge Speed Improvements to Selected

Surface Waterline Passes

The performance of selected surface waterline

passes has been dramatically improved.

The typical speedup is about 80%. For example,

passes that took 400 seconds to generate now take

just 80 seconds.

Shaft Profile Analysis

It is now possible to save changes to the tool for

Roughing Toolpaths. The resultant plan is not instantly

usable and is not guaranteed to be stock safe.

To check the result, users with machine tool simulation

are encouraged to simulate the toolpath.

• The toolpath needs to be selected (optionally a

prismatic or pre-existing stock model can be

selected too)

• Click mouse right

• Then Simulate.

Temporary cutting parameters will be set automatically

in the background, and the surfaces from this toolpath

selected for the simulation. Then once the result has

been checked and considered "Self Validate" can be

used to make the toolpath usable.

Users who do not have machine simulation can

animate the toolpath prior to performing a "Self

Validate", but with the animation it is harder to say if it

is stock safe or not.

It is still recommended that in all but the simplest of

examples the toolpath should be rebuilt using the new

cutter as this will guarantee a gouge free toolpath.

New Tool Plan

A new Tool plan has been implemented that creates

Milling & Cycle tools which can be used as input into

machining passes plans.

New Style Toolsheets

A new style of toolsheet has been implemented to

create a comma separated values (CSV) file; this

makes it possible to import the toolsheet into other

applications and develop your own custom toolsheet.

CSV Tool Sheets Now Open in Libre Office &

Open Office

CSV toolsheets may now be opened in Libre Office

and Open Office by the Toolsheet->View menu.

It now works when the project name contains

spaces.

As some countries use a "," (comma) as a decimal

separator, the CSV toolsheet uses 'Tab' as the

separator. Excel attempts to auto detect this, but

with Libre Office and Open Office, 'Tab' will need to

be selected as the separator by the user.

A Midpoint Can Now be Created

It is now possible to create a midpoint from a

Tessellated curves plan. The behaviour is the same

as for a Tessellated surfaces plan; the point will be

created at the centre of the bounding box formed by

the curve or curves.

Save Tool as a VRML File

An option has been added to the Tool page to save

the tool as a VRML file. With a VRML viewer, the

item can be dynamically rotated and zoomed in on.

A demonstration version of NCG CAM

software, is available to download.

The demonstration version of NCG CAM has

unlimited usage. While there are restrictions to the

machining output, it can also be used in its basic form

as a FREE .iges viewer.
