INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO CHETAK COOKWARE,

KARNAL, HARYANA

(03th October 2018, Wednesday )

Faculty of Management Department at Samalkha

Group of Institutions (SGI) organized an Industrial

Visit to Chetak Cookware in Karnal for their BBA and

MBA students on 3rd October 2018. It is the

mandatory requirement of management education

that all the contents of university should collaborate

and link with the industries so that student can

become more capable to learn practical knowledge

which is needed in these days. For fulfilling these

objectives, Mr. Amit Sharma- Faculty of

Management Department organized an industrial

visit in this industry under the guidance of C.A. Dr.

Sarita Goel – Member Executive. Two subjects in

Principles of Management are completely based on

industrial visits for understanding basic concepts of

management. The students understood the

manufacturing processes of Cookware and learnt all

the technical skills which are required to become an

entrepreneur.

AERO MODELING WORKSHOP

(04th to 06th October 2018)

With the motive to learn something new and

innovative, an ‘Aero Modeling Workshop’ was

organized in the SGI Campus by Aeronautical

Department to ignite a new fire for creative future

within the students.

The workshop was organized in association with

‘Super Pilots Aeronautic Pvt. Ltd.’ located at

Shiwalik City, Kharar Landran Road, Mohali, run by

the Managing Director- Mr. S.P Singh, retired pilot

from PAC, Patiala.

The workshop was held on 4th, 5th and 6th of October

and commenced with a pleasing air show. The air

show gathered everyone’s attention and made a

remarkable beginning. The workshop led its way

towards the fabrication of wing and fuselage. The



motive of the session was to make the students get

their hands on work and prepare the models with

their own efforts. They were made familiar with

aircrafts structure, different kinds of materials used

in manufacturing of aircrafts part and the

aerodynamics properties of the aircraft.

There were 5 groups of students and were

individually trained. The fabrication part consists of

different steps like cutting, rubbing and then

assembling of the different parts of the static model

which students were to make. Workshop took three

days for completion. The last day of workshop

ended up with an experience of flight simulation

and a thrilling involvement of controlling an aircraft

models in the sky.

FUSION 2018

(12th October 2018,Friday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions celebrated the

Fresher’s party named ‘FUSION 2018’ in its campus

area on 12th October 2018. The whole programme

progressed in two phases starting with the kick start

of FUSION 2018 and finally culminating with STAR

NIGHT in the second leap. The Fusion 2018 started

by paying obeisance to Goddess of knowledge Ma

Saraswati by the Chairman Sir, Mr. Ajay Goyal and

all the staff members of SGI.

The Fresher’s party was covered by the all-round

performances of the students from various streams

on vivid cultural activities. The students hailed the

stage with their powered performances on singing,

dance, skit and various other cultural activities. In

the singing category, the students covered folk lore,

classical singing and Hip-hop. After cultural events,

Mr. Fresher & Ms. Fresher and Mr. Talent & Ms.

talent awards were given away by the judges to the

best all-round performer students of the event. The



judgement was based on the cumulative scores of

cultural cum fashion parade event performances.

Paras & Palak , Ashutosh & Pratiksha, Vikram and

Pankaj from various branches of Engineering were

declared Mr. & Ms. Fresher, Mr. & Ms. Personality,

Best Singer(Male) and Best Actor(Male)

respectively.

Mr. & Ms. Fresher, Mr. Talent & Ms.Talent, Best

Singer(Female) and Best Actor(Female) went to

Rahul& Anjali, Zoaib& Samiksha, Simran and Elis

respectively from Management Department.

In the evening, students were honored on their

achievements at college and University level.

Chairman Sir hailed the toppers by giving away the

trophies and certificates and motivated the students

for more hard work. Thereafter, Star Night function

took its leap when the star finally entered on the

stage. The main attraction of Star Night was the

power packed performance of Punjabi folk singer

‘SUNANDA SHARMA’. She entertained the

spectators with her famous Punjabi pop and folk

songs. Everyone felt amused at her performance.

The performance lasted for an hour and so.

Last but not the least, the students conveyed their

Vote of Thanks to all the dignitaries and Chairman

Sir for their auspicious presence during the whole

event.



NETWORKING SEMINAR

(18th October, 2018, Thursday)

A workshop based on Networking was organized at

Seminar Hall of SGI on 18th October 2018.The theme

of the workshop was networking and its emerging

areas. The workshop was led by Mr. Sidharth Tiwari,

a Trainer from the organization ‘Network Bulls’.

Students from Computer Science Engineering and

Electronics and Communication Engineering actively

participated in the workshop. The trainer explained

all the networking concepts like Network models,

LAN, MAN, WAN ,Networking connecting Media,

MAC address and IP addressing, Router etc.

This 4 hours workshop gave insights about the

leading and emerging networking areas, significance

of networking in today’s era and future aspects of

the changes in networking technology. Students

discussed all their doubts and found this workshop

truly a learning experience.



TEST ON ROAD SAFETY

(23th October 2018, Tuesday)

ECE & EEE Department of Samalkha Group of

Institutions, SGI Samalkha in association with

Haryana Traffic police conducted a test on road

safety rules. The students from each Department (

ECE, EEE, ME,AERO, CSE, CIVIL, BBA & MBA) took

part in that test . That test was conducted in

seminar hall of SGI, Samalkha on 23rd October 2018

Shamin from civil dept got 1st position

Vidhi from ECE Dept got 2nd position

Tanya from CSE got 3rd position

Their names were further mailed to police

department for scholarship. Management

appreciated and congratulated ECE & EEE dept for

successful conduction of test.

Yakult Industrial visit

(25th October 2018, Thursday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized an

Industrial visit to YAKULT DANONE

(P) LTD, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Rai , Sonepat,

HARYANA for B.tech and BBA first year students on

25th October 2018 with the objective:

1. To help students gain first hand information

regarding functioning of the company..

2. To gain an insight of YAKULT’s production

process

3. To co-relate theoretical knowledge with real

time practice of the company.



As the bus reached the plant, students were

accompanied by the representative to the

seminar room where she gave a brief

presentation about the company’s history, its

presence across the globe, distribution channel,

turn over and strong research. While briefing

the company’s profile, she explained that Yakult

is a probiotic (friendly) bacteria- Lactobacillus

casei strainshirota which was named after the

founder Dr. Minoru Shirota in 1930.Yakult was

introduced firstly in Japanese market in

1938.She explained the whole production

process from initial stage to the final stage i.e.

packaging the product.

After the presentation, students were taken to

the factory tour where they saw various stages

like mixing of raw material, storage tank

/ blending tank, injection moduling room,

printing machine, filling machine / sealing

machine, packaging machine and refrigeration

room. Students were amazed at the speed at

which the process occurred and how the

automation systems could be set according to

requirements, as minimum of human efforts

was required. All the queries resulting in the minds

of the students were resolved well by the guide.

Thus, the visit was very informative,

knowledgeable, educational and enriching.

Every one out there enjoyed the visit as they

learned a lot of new things which will certainly

help them in their future.



Industrial visit to Kakroi Micro Jal Vidyut

Pariyojna


Samalkha Group of Institutions organized a one day

industrial visit to pertain the knowledge about the

hydro power plant at Kakroi Micro Jal Vidyut

Pariyojna, Sonipat. It was organized for B.tech 4th

year students dated on 26th October 2018.

SGI is hub for providing practical education to the

students with their course-curriculum. Its aim is to

make their students competent for the need of

global corporate world and hence, it is providing

vibrant, resilient and holistic education with

practical knowledge by arranging Training, Live

Projects and Project Module in Multinational

Companies.

The objective of the educational tour was to help

students to gain first hand information regarding

hydro power plant at Kakroi Micro Jal Vidyut

Pariyojna, Sonipat. This plant is operated by

government and we are thankful to SDO (Civil) Mr.

Virendar Singh who took active part with students

in plant operation and provided his valuable

guidance to our pursuing civil engineering students.

The hydro power plant at Kakroi Micro Jal Vidyut

Pariyojna, Sonipat provides electricity to 5 villages

of nearby. This Micro Jal Vidyut Pariyojna is on

western Yamuna canal (Delhi branch) at village

kakroi near Sonipat meets partially the drinking

water requirement of Delhi.

The visit was successful as students came to know

about the hydro electric power generation, gates ,

barrages, aqueducts, turbines. Their better

understanding about the subject ‘Irrigation

Engineering’ was another major gain. SGI delivers

knowledge along with practical concepts. The

programme was coordinated by Mr. Aftab Aalm



(AP, Civil Engineering Deptt.), Mr.Mohit Kumar

(AP , Civil Engineering Deptt.) and Mr. Vikas

(Lecturer, Civil Engineering Deptt.).

All the students thanked SGI Management for

organizing such events.

Mr. Ajay Goel, Chairman, Prof. (Dr.) Sarita Goel,

Principal SGI congratulated Civil Engg. Dept. and

students for the success of the visit and promised

for many such activities in the future.

Industrial visit to SIEMENS, chandigarh


A group of 43 students including 4 Diploma and 39

B.Tech (EEE, ECE, ME) students attended a one day

industrial trip to IATC Siemens, Chandigarh on 26th

October 2018. Faculty members Mr. Sonu Gurra and

Mr. Tushar escorted the group for the visit. The

purpose of the visit was to familiarize students to

industrial automation and robotics. Siemens is an

electronic leader worldwide and IATC Siemens,

Chandigarh is the sole training center for north India

The industrial visit was planned to give a very

valuable exposure around industrial

automation and working style. Students took

important notes about future prospects in their field

of engineering. During the visit to Siemens, around 1

hour and 30 min of seminar session was held, which

covered the following details:

Core concepts related with Automation

Current industry needs

Different areas for which SIEMENS works

Various career opportunities in the field of

automation.

Excellent infrastructure of company and laboratory

facilities was presented and students particularly

appreciated humility of very knowledgeable training

personals about their innovative products. PLC

based control systems included analog and digital

electronic systems along with pneumatic control for

mechanical systems. Students from computer

science noted the coding patterns for the control

systems whereas students from electronics studied

various electronic components and circuits to

implement control systems. During the

demonstration, it was particularly emphasized that

industrial automation systems must be fool proof.

Longevity of a solution along with ease of repair are

the main factors to present an industrial quality

solution. Students asked a variety of questions and

the people at SIEMENS amply answered them.



Apart from visiting the training facility, a visit to

Sukhna Lake added a sense of adventurism in the

industrial tour. Students enjoyed boating and

general sightseeing too. This particular combination

of education & entertainment i.e. ‘edutainment’ is

part of constant effort of School of Engineering, to

infuse new energy into routine university schedule.

CAD TECH Seminar

(30th October 2018, Monday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized one day

workshop on the topic ‘Role of Computer aided

design in Engineering & Sciences’ in the Seminar

Hall of SGI on 30th October 2018.The workshop was

conducted with the joint efforts of SGI and its

technology partner CAD- Tech Solution Ltd. Delhi.

The workshop was basically focused on introducing

the new entrants in the field of Civil Engineering,

Electrical and Electronics Engineering and

Mechanical Engineering Departments to the

Computer Simulated Designs and their processing.

Mr. Kapil of CAD- Tech, Delhi acquainted the

students with various computer aided tools used for

the design of machines, IC fabrication and Layout

designs and also for site layouts. The workshop

attracted the focus and also lighted the mindset of

the students towards the vibrant, dynamic field of

designing.

The Chairman, SGI thanked Mr. PANKAJ and Mr.

Mukesh from CAD- Tech Solution Ltd. for making



aware the students of SGI about the newly

emerging trends and progresses so far made in the

field of designing.
