Panipat INDUSTRIAL VISIT- AIR FORCE MUSEUM (2 nd February 2019, Saturday) SGI has been following its vision and is working towards the perennial development of students to bring the best out of students of SGI. Therefore, I ST , and II nd year students of Aeronautical Engineering were acquainted with the history and development of marvels of Aerospace Engineering at Air Force Museum, Palam, New Delhi on 2 nd February, 2019. Mr. George Phlip, Head of Department, Aeronautical Engineering conducted the industrial visit with the coordination of Mr. Vishal & Mr. Ashutosh Dixit. Students curiously saw a collection of aeroplanes & armoury which depicts the history of the Indian Air force which was framed and exhibited in a respectable manner, as described below- The hangar has 15 different types of military aircrafts that have formed the backbone of IAF including the Westland Lysander that was the first craft to fly through Khyber Pass, Hawker Hurricane, Hawker Tempest and Vickers Spitfire, which played havoc during World War II, particularly during the Battle of Britain. Also on display are helicopters, anti-aircraft guns, radar equipment and captured enemy vehicles. The 1971 war was a golden feather in the history of modern India when 90000 Pakistani troops surrendered to just 5000 Indian troops. The museum is also home to a lot of guns which have been used by the army over the years. Uniforms from different regiments were at the display from different times in the museum. It has a collection of photographic history of the IAF from the early days in Risalpur (now in Pakistan) to the latest group photographs of the top echelons. There were photographs, mementoes and models of the Indo-Soviet Joint Manned Spaceship-Siyuz T-11. This spaceship manned by Sqn Ldr Rakesh Sharma of the IAF, lifted off on 3rd April 1983 and returned to the earth on 11th April 1983. The Russian IL-14 named Meghdoot by our late PM Jawahar Lal Nehru and Douglas Dakota (USA) termed as ‘Immortal Dak, also occupy place of honor here. INDUSTRIAL VISIT- AIR FORCE MUSEUM

(2nd February 2019, Saturday)

SGI has been following its vision and is working

towards the perennial development of students to

bring the best out of students of SGI. Therefore, IST,

and IInd year students of Aeronautical Engineering

were acquainted with the history and development of

marvels of Aerospace Engineering at Air Force

Museum, Palam, New Delhi on 2nd February, 2019.

Mr. George Phlip, Head of Department, Aeronautical

Engineering conducted the industrial visit with the

coordination of Mr. Vishal & Mr. Ashutosh Dixit.

Students curiously saw a collection of aeroplanes &

armoury which depicts the history of the Indian Air

force which was framed and exhibited in a

SEMINAR ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

& MACHINE LEARNING

(4th February 2019, Monday)

An interactive seminar was organized by CSE Dept.

on Feb 4, 2019 in the seminar hall. The seminar

started at 11:50 am and the guests Mr. Nishant Singh

AND Mr. Gaurav Gupta, Co-founders, Skill Santa

were honored with a bouquet by Dr. Sandeep Malik

(Hod, CSE).Students of CSE 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th year

enthusiastically participated in the seminar. The

guests started the seminar with the introduction of

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

followed by types of machine learning (Supervised,

Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning). Latest

trends of search optimization in E-Commerce were

discussed.

Later the speakers emphasized on K means

Algorithm and implementation of machine learning.

The whole session of one and a half hour was really

interactive and it bound the attention of students

through various activities. The students who

answered the questions were awarded with small

gifts by the speakers. The session proved to be very

useful for the students who are looking for

opportunities in the Machine Learning /Data

Scientist field.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO SEWERAGE

TREATMENT PLANT

(5th February 2019, Tuesday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions has organized a one

day industrial visit to pertain the knowledge about

the Sewage treatment plant at Siwah, Panipat. It was

organized for B.tech 3rd year & Diploma 2nd year

students dated on February 5, 2019.

SGI is hub for providing Practical Education to the

students with their Course-Curriculum. Its aim is to

make student competent for the need of global

corporate world and it is providing vibrant, resilient

and holistic education with practical knowledge by

arranging Training, Live Projects, Seminars,

Industrial visits and Project Module in Multinational

Companies and Public sector organizations.

The objective of the Industrial visit was to help

students to gain first hand information regarding

Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP)-5MLD, Samalkha.

This plant is operated by Public health engineering

department, Government of Haryana and we are

thankful to Mr. Devender (Plant

operator) who took active part with students in plant

operation and provide his valuable guidance to our

pursuing civil engineering students. The plant treats

the sewage load of industries as well as domestic

effluent. It is sometimes also called as CTP i.e.

(Contemporary Treatment Plant).The plant was self

sufficient as it uses methane gas for its operation and

was graded as 3 star energy efficient.

The visit was successful as students came to know

about the concept of 3R, Reuse, recycle & reproduce

applications of STP in the industry. Their better

understanding about the subject water supply and

treatment was another major gain. SGI delivers

knowledge along with practical concepts. The

program was coordinated by Mr. Aftab Aalm (A.P

Civil Engineering, Deptt.), Mr.Vikash (Lecturer,

Civil Engineering, Deptt.). and Mr. Rinku Kumar

(Lecturer, Civil Engineering, Deptt.).

All the students thanked SGI Management for

organizing such a knowledgeable event.

WORKSHOP ON BIG DATA AND HADOOP

(11th February 2019, Monday)

SGI organized a workshop based on Big Data and

Hadoop network on 11th Feb, 2019. Students of CSE

dept and ECE Dept participated in the workshop

with immense interest. The workshop was run by

Mr. Mangal Kakkar and Mr. Neeraj Sharma (Aftron

solutions pvt. Ltd.) Under the supervision of Dr.

Sandeep Malik, HOD, CSE dept. and Mr. Arun,

TPO, SGI.

The speakers explained that Hadoop is an open

source distributed processing framework that

manages data processing and storage for big data

applications running in clustered systems. It is at the

center of a growing ecosystem of big

data technologies that are primarily used to support

advanced analytics initiatives, including data mining

and machine learning applications. Hadoop can

handle various forms of structured and unstructured

data, giving users more flexibility for collecting,

processing and analyzing data than relational

databases and data warehouses.

Later the speakers emphasized on Big data which is

an evolving term that describes a large unstructured

data that has the potential to be mined for

information and used in machine learning volume

of structured, semi-structured and projects and other

advanced analytics applications.

The session touched the latest trends and therefore

captivated the interest of students. Later the speakers

answered all the queries raised by students.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO UNDER

CONSTRUCTION BUS -STAND, PANIPAT

(19th February 2019, Tuesday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions has organized a one

day industrial visit to pertain the knowledge about

Under Construction new Bus-Stand at Siwah,

Panipat. It was organized for B.tech 2nd year,

Diploma 3rd year students dated on 19th Feb. 2019.

The objective of the Industrial visit was to help

students to gain first hand information regarding,

,Panipat.This project was Tenderd by the Public

Work Department. Whose tender no is 90530 with

tender valve INR 12.64 Crore /- .State Transport

Minister Krishan Lal Panwar has announced the

shifting of the Panipat bus stand to Sewah village.

He said land had been identified for the construction

of city bus stand and Roadways workshop 13.

Tender was offered by Tendering Authority (PWD)

to Global Infracone Limited. The Guidance to the

Students provided under the supervision of Site

Incharge Mr. Anil Riddu and Site Engineer Mr.

Jasvinder Singh.

The visit was successful as students came to know

about the Layout of foundation, Reinforcement

Detailing of Beam & Column. Their better

understanding about the Drawing Preparation.SGI

delivers knowledge along with practical concepts.

The program was coordinated by Mr. Meenu

Dhiman (A.P. Civil Engineering. Deptt), Mr. Mohit

(A.P. Civil Engineering Deptt.), Mr. Sumit Saini

(Lecturer, Civil Engineering Deptt.).

All the students thanked SGI Management for

JAIPUR TOUR

(22nd February 2019 to 24th February 2019)

Samalkha Group of Institutions always works for

getting perfection. For fulfilling its objectives

Samalkha Group of Institutions planned for a Tour

for their Management and B.tech First Year students.

Purpose of this tour is to make their students

compatible to work in team. It was a tour of two

days and three nights.

It was completely a favorite place to stay in Jaipur –

“Park Classic Hotel” which started by Dr. Sarita

Goel on 22nd February, 2019 evening with special

blessing to students and teachers. Main

Concentration of Jaipur is Amer fort and Sheesh

Mahal. Students visited there with the help of Guide

and they learned a lot about our rich history. After

this, students visited Jal Mahal and Birla Mandir.

Then students went to hotel for DJ night and Dinner.

Next day students visited Albert Museum, Hawa

Mahal and more interesting, they watched Toal

Dhamaal movie in Raj Mandir. After Taking Dinner

tour depart from Jaipur. Students enjoyed a lot and

demanding same for the future.

DIGITAL MARKETING WORKSHOP

(26th February 2019, Tuesday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized a

workshop on Digital Marketing. The said workshop

was organized in association with Sofcon India Pvt.

Ltd.. Topics related to the SEO(Search Engine

Optimization), SMO(Social Media Optimization),

Google PPC, Facebook Paid Ads, etc were

highlighted and covered. The students were highly

motivated and learnt about the real life projects.

The Company “Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd.” is doing well

in its field by Niladri Das. He launched great

websites and products. He has worked with many

companies and start-ups. So now he was in SGi for

fulfilling student’s potentials. In his lecture he told

about the digital marketing and how digital

marketing makes creative thinking. The work done

by digital marketing is different to other marketing

and which make you separate from others. It is the

ability of digital marketing to leverage online

technology successfully to bring results. After this he

told about the company that how Sofcon India Pvt.

Ltd. provides high level of interaction with the users.

He told that our company always uses the latest

technology and delivery is always on time. We

promise to provide quality with our impeccable

services and creativity. We never let down our any

customer and all are happily working with us. We

are great at building work and relations.

He has perfectly created a blend of knowledge and

experience in his career and professional life which

makes him stand apart from the crowd. Before

turning to academics he has also gained rich

experience of the corporate world which makes his

knowledge more refined and strong from all the

perspectives. With his good interactive nature he

passionately trained the people in digital marketing.

SGi always believes in realistic awareness, value

based knowledge and training of the students while

studying. For proving this objective SGi organized a

fantastic and comprehension based Lecture on a day

demanding topic “Digital Marketing”.

At last Mr. Arun Bhardwaj – TPO, SGI along with

Faculties gave a mementoes Mr. Niladri Das and told

the students that this type of workshop will be in

sequence in future for up gradation of the practical

knowledge of the students

QUIZ ON LATEST TRENDS IN

AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING

(26th February 2019, Tuesday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized a quiz on

Automobile Engineering and Technology on 26th

February 2019 in association with the department of

Mechanical Engineering with “Automotive

Modeling” as the theme. The event was held at 11:00

AM on 26.02.2019 in mechanical department.

The Faculty, students and automobile enthusiasts

were invited to take part in the event.

Automobile Engineering is a professional

programme which helps students to understand the

working mechanisms of heavy tools and

machineries. The branch applies principles of

engineering, physics and material science for the

design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of

mechanical systems. A course in automobile

engineering makes a student gain knowledge and

experience in the designing of electric motors,

automobiles, aircrafts and other heavy vehicles.

Mechanical/Automobile engineering demands

knowledge about software used in technical work

like computer-aided design and mathematical

modeling.

Students were very happy with the quiz by getting

the knowledge in recent developments in automobile

and hope to enhance their educational quality to

higher level.

The last session of the quiz was very interactive

where students got an opportunity to have a

discussion with Mr. Rajnish Kumar and Mr. Rohit,

assistant professors of mechanical department and

they interacted with the students on the quality

standards of automobile engineering. A complete

knowledge about automobile engineering made this

quiz very knowledgeable experience for all the

students of mechanical department of Samalkha

Group of Institution.

At the end result was announced and the prizes and

the certificates were distributed to the winner

WORKSHOP FOR THE PERSONAL AND

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

(28th February 2019, Thursday)

“To present a performance of (a dramatic work)

using intensive group discussion and

improvisation in order to explore aspects of the

production prior to formal staging is what we call

a workshop.”

Samalkha Group Of Institutions have never

stayed behind in arranging educational workshops

for the betterment of the students. In future, it’s

not about the competition of knowledge. It’s the

competition of creativity, a competition of

imagination, competition of independent thinking.

So, in the future, it’s not knowledge-driven, it’s

wisdom-driven. And for the same, a workshop for

the personal and professional development of

students was organized at the Campus. The said

workshop was arranged in association with

Automagic Learning and Development Pvt. Ltd. The

event highlighted and focused on achieving life

goals after multiplying their willpower, skills, and

Learning Quotient where students from B.tech,

BBA and MBA joined the seminar. The

expressions and motivation of the students shined

after the workshop. They were quite excited and

incentive and decided to attend their further

seminars.

WORKSHOP ON MS WORD, EXCEL,

POWERPOINT FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS

(28th February 2019, Thursday)

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized a

workshop, inviting school students where they were

taught how to use MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Also a practice session was provided to the students.

Dr. Sandeep Malik (Head of Department, CSE) &

Mr. Nitish Munjal (Head of Department, Applied

Science) conducted the whole event.

Mr. Arun bhardwaj, Training & Placement Officer

started the workshop with the brief introduction of

college and the scope of different courses. After that

Ms. Neha (A.P. CSE Department) and Mr. Upender

(A.P. CSE Department) delivered the session on MS

word, Excel and PowerPoint. As we all know, today

to work more efficiently we must have the basic

knowledge of the computers. It not only increases

our efficiency but also save our time, gives more

perfection and is easy to handle. All the students

took part in the workshop with immense zest and

zeal. They got an opportunity to work on MS word,

Excel and PowerPoint.

Students were given exposure on how to create

charts and apply formulas in excel, How to create

company letter head in MS Word. As Presentations

is a good way to elaborate the content so students

were also given some important points on how to

create a presentation and make it more interactive by

adding Multimedia in the presentation. The session

turned out to be very informative for the students.

At the end Dr. Sarita Goel, Member executive,

Samalkha Group of Institutions, distributed

certificates to the students and also motivated them

to work hard to achieve their goals. She also wished

them good luck for their upcoming examinations.
