Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, located in South Asia has 650 miles of coastline on the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman. The west is bordered by Afghanistan andIran. India is to the east and China in the far northeast. The country is strategically located between South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Land is a valuable natural

resource.

Other natural resources include an extensive natural gas supply, some oil, hydro power potential, coal (although not high quality), iron ore, copper, salt, and limestone. Agricultural

products are wheat, cotton, rice, sugarcane, eggs, fruit, vegetables, milk, beef, and mutton. Primary industry includes textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, construction materials,

shrimp, fertilizer, and paper products. Major exports are textiles, rice, leather goods, sports goods, carpets, rugs, and chemicals. Pakistan imports petroleum, machinery, plastic,

edible oil, iron, steel, tea, and paper.

Coal

Pakistan recently discovered one low and four low-to-medium quality coal seams in the Punjab. Low sulfur coal was recently reported at the Baluchistan and near Islamabad.



Bituminous, sub-bituminous, and lignite coal have been found in Pakistan.

Coal reserves are estimated at 175 billion tons. This would equate to 618 billion barrels of crude oil. When compared to oil reserves his is more than twice the amount of the top four

countries. If At KSAs current usage, the reserves would last more than 200 years.

Oil and Gas

Natural gas production is at a high level in Pakistan. Estimated reserves are 885.3 billion cubic meters (as of January 2009). Gas fields are expected to last for another 20 years. TheSui gas field is the largest, accounting for 26% of Pakistans gas production. Daily production is 19 million cubic meters a day. Under the barren mountains of Balochistan and the

sands of Sindh, there are untouched oil and gas reserves.

Forestry

Forests are limited to 4% of Pakistans land; nonetheless the forests are a main source of food, lumber, paper, fuel wood, latex, and medicine. The forests are also used for wildlife

conversation and ecotourism.

Mining

Pakistan has large gold/copper ore deposits at Saindak. There are large deposits of rock salt in the Pothohar Plateau. Pakistans mineral resources include reserves of gypsum,

limestone, chromites, iron ore, rock salt, silver, precious stones, gems, marbles, tiles, sulfur, fire clay, and silica sand.

Land

About 28% of Pakistans total land area is under cultivation. Pakistan boasts one of the largest irrigation systems in the world. According to Wikipedia, the most important crops are

cotton, wheat, rice, sugarcane, maize, sorghum, millets, pulses, oil seeds, barley, fruits and vegetables, which together account for more than 75% of the value of total crop output.

The fertile lands of Punjab are ready to feed a population twice that of current Pakistan.

Uranium

Pakistan has a long history of exporting small amounts of uranium. In 2006 Pakistan produced about 45 tons of uranium.

The fishing industry plays a role in the national economy of Pakistan. The coastline is 814km and fishery resources still have room to grow. Fishing in Pakistan is a major source of

export earnings.

Pakistan is rich in diverse natural resources. Pakistans human resources include a population of intelligent young people and a burgeoning urban middle class. The culture, knowledge,wealth, and infrastructure are sure to grow and improve in the near future. This combined with its prime location will lead to long-term success for the nation.

natural resources for betterment of common people of Pakistan.Take the example of forestry in Gilgit-Baltistan,where the fedral governmnet has been allowing the wealthy

people to cut down more and more trees,and the local people of Gilgit-Baltistan are not getting any benifit out of this distructive activity.If the pace of cutting forest in GB,

remains the same for couple of years then there is a chance to become this area barren like the other parts of Pakistan.So being Pakistani we should stand up against scuh

policies of the governmnet which lead our country towards distruction and catastrophe.

unfortunate to the country of pakistan that this country is in the hands of unloyal and selfish political leaders,army generals and land lords who exploit all sorts of resources for

thier own pocket.It is also very unfortunate to our country that the general masses of pakistan do not want to change their fate by themselves,because it needs the secrifice of

blood.In the 63 years long history of this country we the people of pakistan could not unite under one flag,and are being divided by the slogans of,cst,creed,language, ethnic,

and religious secterion system to be easly ruled and prey by our elites,as the were taught and injucted by the english(Ferangi),divide and rule.So we need to secrifice ourselves

for over turning the slavery way of life by defining our own way of Government.

Dont blame the leaders when the whole nation is corrupt. People need to stop blaming the leaders. where do they come from? From the nation itself. People need toaccept their responsibilties.

We Pakistani are just proud to be born Muslims and in Pakistan. But how many of us are even part of the nation? We are just pround but our actions make us so ashmed that

where ever you look in the world Pakistanis are treated as dogs.

A few traits of a Pakistani Dishonest, Lier, Irresponsible, Corrupt, Unjust and the list goes on. So do you want to call yourselve a Nation based on these traits and also a

Muslim???

I am not sure how long we will survive but I know the time is running out

No one should be proud of Pakistan. It is a corrupt country with unmercy people. All the Natural gass and oil (petroleum) and other natural resources are to be found in the

Sindh and Balochistan provinces, but still Balochistan remains in the mountains with no schools, no education, no hospital, no anything. While Punjabi people who only have

rice and cotton lives a luxurious life. This is not what i call a islamic country. Shame on Pakistani gov.

Story of a small village.

There was a small village in an under developed area with no schools, water, electricity or road. There was only a zig zag walkway with a lot of ascends and descends, that

connected the village to the nearest town.One could not even ride a bicycle on this track. The villagers were peace loving people with a lot of respect and love for each other

and specialy for elders. Mostly farmers, with very small peace of land, each family, hardly enough to feed them throughout the year. In the absence of govt help,on occasions of

marriages and funnerals get togathers, they used to discuss their grievances and difficulties and possible solutions to their problems. One fine day they decided to go for self

help.Each family contributed what ever they could and they started to pave the village streets. After finishing this job there was smile of success on every face. A welfare fundwas initiated for schools, water wells, paved road and eletricity.Two plots of land were donated by villagers and construction of two rooms each started. Furniture was

purchased and boys & girls primary schools were ready.Approval from local govt was easy as every penny was raised and spent on self help basis.Next came the wells and

with arrival of electricity, water problem was history.Land and funds donated by villagers and with some help from local govt, dream of paved road came true.With scarcity of

govt and private jobs, people started hunting overseas job markets. Today they are asset for this small village. With positive attitude and positive thinking, widows,orphans and

poor are helped. Widows and orphans of this blessed village are living life much better than millions of their compatriots. Today one can find engineers,doctors, teachers and

highly educated in this small village of approx eighty families. Most of the girls are post graduate, graduate or matric at least.

This is a fifty years long journey of a small village of northern Punjab. No protests or guns except selfhelp were used to achieve this.

THIS ALL WAS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CHAUDHARY, MALIK, KHAN, SAIEN, WADERA OR SARDAR TO GUIDE OR MISGUIDE THEM.GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES. SHUN HATRED, SPREAD RESPECT AND LOVE CAUS YOU HAVE TO LIVE ONCE ONLY.TRUST

YOURSELF, DEVELOP YOUR VILLAGE OR NEIGHBOURHOOD ON SELF HELP BASIS. BEAUTIFY YOUR AREA AND VERY SOON INSHA ALLAH

PAKISTAN WILL BE PARADISE ON EARTH.

If you want to do anything for your beloved country, start from your neighbourhood. Search for the poorest and help them, feed the hungry neighbours. Help educate

those who cannot afford the expenses. Keep your home and the area tidy and clean. This will make Pakistan more beautiful. Educate the nation. Educated youth will be

the real asset of Pakistan.

Agree to some extent. This problem is in every country. Only the 10-15% will hold most of the wealth in any country. Be it Pakistan, UK, USA, India. Why India is

making so much progress in every business? They have more poor people than us. The problem lies with every individual in Pakistan. I have summarised a list of

behaviours in my previous post which will destroy any nation and Pakistan is no different.

Rahi has told a very good story and we need that in every house, street, village and city. Honesty is key here and there is the saying God helps those who help

themselves.A positive attitude, education, sincerity, passion and drive to do something, determination and unity.

If we can try to incorporate the above in our everyday life I see Pakistani nation to be the best in less time than one can imagine.

ONE CHILD ONE TREE FOR GREEN PAKISTAN.

Forests play very important role in economy and developement of a country. Furniture, plywood, chipboard, hardboard, cardboard, paper products, fire wood, fibers,

medicines and thousands of products are manufactured from trees and plants.Countries like Brazil, Chile, Malaysia and Indonesia etc are earning billions of dollars annualy from

their forests AS THEY HAVE MORE THAN 50 % of their land covered with forests while PAKISTAN HAS ONLY 4 TO 5 %. Even India has 24 % forests. We are 180

million people in Pakistan and spring season has started. Let us start planting trees only one plant per person of our families. We can name each tree to the name of each family

member and can look after these like we do for our loved ones. Where are you young Pakistanese? take the charge, guide the nation. Let us add 180 million trees to our

forests to get healthy environment, free fresh air, oxygen and make PAKISTAN real green. We can plant one tree on the birth of each child and look after it easily.GOD BLESS PAKISTAN AND PAKISTANIS.

Three to four billion dollars are required initialy to produce electricity and fuel from Thar coal deposits as per Dr Samar Mubarak Mand. Let us see which govt takes the 1st

What a bullshit Yasir shah u are writing we Indians havs a very high education.. We know condition of Indian Muslims, they are 3rd or 4th class citizens of India.

Poorest among Indians, least educated, left backward by successive Indian governments. If any one of your community member gets a chance to get higher educationdoors of government jobs are closed for your people and you know it very well. POOREST OF PAKISTANIS IS LIVING A MUCH BETTER LIFE THAN ANYOF RICHEST INDIAN MUSLIM. Mind it and keep your advice to yourself and put your good efforts to get a respectable place for Muslims living in India. We also

know that religious extremism is not right and such people are present in every country like Shiv Sena, Bajrangdal and many more in India.
