The Grasse Institute of Perfumery is locat-ed five minutes from the historical town center.We welcome you to our establishment situ-ated in a Provençal style house, built in the early 20th Century. For more than two centuries, Grasse has been regarded as the World Capital of natural raw materials for perfumery and cosmetics. With more than sixty specialized compa-nies, Grasse remains today an essential focus for the international market of natural extracts.

Created in 2002 by Prodarom, the French Association of Fragrance Manufacturers, the aim of our establishment is to train student perfumers. Our very close links with the local aromatic industry entitle us to offer very specialized training courses in the field of the natural products.

Who we are

The sessions proceed either in May (Rose season) or in September (Jasmine season). Each session lasts 2 weeks, from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, lunch included.

Discovers of the raw materials (history, culture, harvest, cost..). Methods of extraction (distillation, sol-vents extraction, infusion...). Practical work (olfaction). Study of standard accords (aromatic & flowered Cologne*, soliflore rose and jasmine *, Cyprus, fern).*: accords given as an example, and may be modified

Natural perfume formulation (practical work). Visit to growers and extraction plants (Centifolia rose in May, Grasse jasmine in September).

Application of essential oils for beauty and well-being.From the fine fragrance to cosmetic appli-cation : how to adapt the fragrance to the support ?Practical work : specific formulation for different supports. Candles, soap, shower gel, shampoo, body milk, body oil...For each product type, formulation de-velopment, manufacturing considerations, and stability testing will be discussed.From classical to natural and organic cosmetic. New concepts and formulation review.
