Perfumery, Bases, Accords, Tinctures, Carriers, and Alcohol. It includes 4-natural perfumery courses, 4 course booklets, 2 textbooks, scent blotters, containers, vials, colors, and the Basic 7 Vocabulary of Odor© including all goods and tangibles. This includes free time to peruse the hundreds of absolutes, essential oils, and CO2 and antique and library odors for analysis as well as having access to the important historical texts of natural perfumery.

This 8-day course provides comprehensive instruction for botanical and quality artisanal perfumery. We use only natural ingredients and we show the difference between what is available now as natural and what was available for comparison purpose. We supply (free) over 255 items to use in your work and hundreds more library and ancient odors to smell. The course covers everything from perfect Blending for therapy or perfume, to perfect Perfumery - building a unique and perfect scent combining your favorites and soon to become favorites odors, making bases and accords and learning and using many alcohols, tinctures and carriers. The Vocabulary of Odor© as developed by Jeanne Rose is used.

Each of the 4 sections includes a new and practical workbook as developed by Jeanne Rose from her 45 years of experience. We incorporate working as a group, in pairs, singly, and teach uses of laboratory equipment. Every day is different and unique; every day builds on what has been learned before. What You Can Expect in the Jeanne Rose Seminar by Kimberly Ayers •Expect to be challenged. •Expect to write many, many notes from the fountain of knowledge that is Jeanne Rose. You will continually refer to these notes over the years again and again! •Expect to learn Jeanne’s copyrighted “Basic 7 – Vocabulary of Odor©” which will give you a common language in which to describe odors. •Expect to be involved in the intensive and don’t be shy about asking questions. Don’t feel that what you want to ask is “stupid” – remember this is your opportunity to have Ms. Rose answer your questions directly. Jeanne Rose will tell you “there are no stupid questions”. •Expect that over the course of the intensive Ms. Rose will require that you do homework, build your foundation of knowledge, and that you are to share your answers/observations with the class. •Expect that you will know what a Latin binomial name is, and why they’re so important by the end of the intensive.
