LICENCE TO POSSESS A FIREARM - INDIVIDUALS

• Transitional period of five (5) years for the renewal of licences, permits or authorisations

• Replacement of corresponding licences in terms of Firearms Control Act, 2000

• Notice will be published in Government Gazette with renewal call up

• Renewal period (1 Jan 2005 to 31 Dec 2008)

institution• Successfully completed prescribed test on knowledge of the Act

– Apply at relevant DFO for competency certificate• Background evaluation• Fingerprints• Process applications on EFRS• Submit to CFR• Issue competency certificate• Print a Provincial Office of certificate
