Margins Notice (MN)

A MN will remain in place until the end of the gas day to which it is applicable, unless

superseded by a Gas Deficit Warning.

The Margins Notice report is published daily providing a rolling five day view of supply

& demand data and information relating to storage Safety Monitors

http://www2.nationalgrid.com/uk/industry-information/gas-transmission-system-

operations/balancing/daily-margins-notice-report/

A D-1 Notification issued by NTS via ANS to all NTS users.

Purpose:

1. To provide a high level, day ahead notice of a potential supply/demand imbalance for

the coming Gas Day and;

2. To encourage NTS users to take heed of the rolling Daily Margins Report and

reassess their position relative to prevailing forecasts.

Daily

Methodology

Page 24: National Grid: NTS Operation...2 Key roles of the System Operator Safe, reliable and efficient operation of the National Transmission System (NTS) Residual Energy Balancing of the

A warning issued by NTS via ANS to all NTS users

Purpose:

To stimulate a market response to address the EOD forecast significant NTS physical EOD

imbalance.

24

National Gas Deficit Warning (GDW)

Methodology

The GNCC have full discretion on the

issue of a GDW, there are no predefined

triggers.

The GDW can be issued in advance

of or during the Gas Day.

information

A GDW withdrawal notice will be

issued when appropriate to retract the
