Narval Ingeniería was founded in 1983 by initiative of a small group of professionals who, before the foundation of the company, already had extensive experience in the field of civil engineering, hydraulic works, and urban planning.

NARVAL is member of different professional associations, both national (TECNIBERIA) and autonomic (ASICA, of which NARVAL was a founding member) and maintains frequent collaborations with the University and various research centers.

In recent years, with the general economic crisis on the rise, we have diversified and increased our lines of work, undertaking various measures. On one hand, we have adapted our human capital to the market demand, without reducing one iota the quality of our services. We also highlight those initiatives that favor in the short-term the diversification and internationalization of our project. This is why we opted for our policy of R & D, already initiated during the years 2009 and 2010.

The early years were really difficult because of the small consulting market in Andalusia and Spain. Most of orders received were the result of parallel activities of expertise that members of Narval carried out in several important cities of Malaga.

The scope of activities of the company begun to increase gradually, while its technical capacity and work grew. The number and importance of its customers also increased, starting with the general directions of the Andalusian-related sector (Roads, Environment, Transport, Urban, etc.), followed by the State Administration (DG highways, General Directorate of Water, Directorate General of Railways, Urban, etc.). Later came both state-owned enterprises (ACUSUR, ACUAMED, GIF, ADIF, etc.) and regional-owned ones (GIASA, EGMASA, RAILWAY BOARD OF ANDALUSIA, etc.).

Our performances were polarized on most high-ways in eastern Andalusia (A-7, A-4, A-92, A-357), the ringroads of cities (Malaga, Granada, Marbella, Antequera, Ronda, Archidona, Baeza, etc.) construc-tion and / or upgrading of hundreds of kilometers of roads both from the Spanish Public Administration and the regional Andalusian, high-speed railways (LAV Córdoba-Málaga, Transversal Axis Rail, LAV-Murcia Almería), works to improve the hydraulic supply and sanitation (Málaga drinking water supply, drought emergency works from the system Viñuela, transfer Negratín Almanzora, hydraulic cycle of the municipali-ties of the Costa Tropical de Granada, Subsystem of river Tinto, siphon under the river Darro in Granada, etc..); protection works against floods in rivers and streams (Guadalhorce, Campanillas, etc.). drinking water reservoirs (Sevilla, Marbella, Benalmadena, etc..) water treatment plants and environmental works (water treatment plant of El Trapiche, Wastewater Treatment Plants of Loja, Alcalá la Real and Velez Malaga, etc..) desalination (Málaga), etc.

In the time that the road network in Andalusia was strongly affected by storm damage, NARVAL designed projects and supervised the most important works to stabilize slopes affected by landslides (Venta del Molinillo, Otivar, Alfacar , Rías Diezma, all of them in the province of Granada).

NARVAL also extended its activities in the field of spatial planning and sectorial plans such as general Intermodal Transportation in the Metropolitan Areas of Malaga and Granada, Health Infrastructure Plans in the provinces of Granada, Malaga and Almeria, the Master Plan Sanitation and Treatment master plan of Castilla la Mancha, the general urban plans of different municipalities of Malaga.

At the same time, NARVAL extended the scope of its business to clients in the private sphere. The result of these collaborations were the urban planning and the construction projects of promotions such as Alcaidesa (San Roque-La Linea), Plaza Mayor (Malaga), Santa Maria (Cadiz), Cerrado del Aguila (Mijas) or Circo de Calaceite (Torrox ). In this area the works of the new marina in La Linea de la Concepcion should be singled out.

Today, we are immersed in a group of actions that within a short period will lead to the diversification and internationalization of the company, and we are strengthening our policies on R & D+i, while continu-ing to develop various projects in each of our areas.

For this purpose, we have developed an annual training plan to expand and upgrade the skills and technical capacity of or employees.

We also have among our equipment all the instru-ments that we use to develop our work, either in our facilities or directly on the ground.

It is for this reason that we have last generation com-puter equipments, various topographic measurement instruments, as well as a fleet of cars to facilitate our travel to projects locations and works managements in which we participate.

Narval Ingeniería has implemented a System of R & D +i (Re-search Development and Innovation) that is integrated with the quality system and the environmental management system the company has. This system has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the UNE 166002:2006.

Today NARVAL Ingenieria SA has integrated a Management Unit of R & D + I, composed of the heads of various departments of the company, which is essential for the proper development and maintenance of the system.

This system is already paying off, as to date and thanks to the technological monitoring and meetings held with the manage-ment, the unit has developed a research project under the In-novation and Development Agency of Andalusia (Agencia IDEA).

In early 2001, in line with our corporate philosophy, we initiated a system of quality management based on ISO 9001, and an environmental manage-ment system based on ISO 14001, the latter operating from early 2004.

To provide our customers with the best guarantees, both systems are certified from its development by Bureau Veritas, a body accredited by ENAC (Spain) and UKAS (UK). We understand the responsibility that comes with our projects, and we believe in having ex-ternal accreditation bodies demonstrating the proper functioning of our workflow and our excellent results.

Moreover, both systems have their policies on quality and environmental management, according to the re-quirements of ISO 9.001/2008 and ISO 14.001/2004, which constitute the backbone of many of our actions.

Thanks to our quality control policy we have seen a continuous improvement in all activities undertaken by the company, something we feel very proud of, as it as a direct impact on customer satisfaction and results in the quality of our projects.

The backbone of our environmental policy is the envi-ronmental management system. Its base is the devel-opment of business activities in a sustainable way that respects the environment and society, through the use of recycled materials or low pollutants materials.

Narval Ingeniería has its own Department of Quality Control and Environmental Management, with its own staff, qualified as auditors of both quality control and environmental management with titles IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors).

Our projects

Sanitary engineeringIn this line of activity we are dedicated to cleaning up the areas where human activity takes place. To do this we use the interaction of our experience and expertise in hydraulics, chemistry, physics, mechanics, etc.., and environmental engineering. We contribute to reduce water-borne diseases as many of our projects facilitate the treatment, filtering and disinfection of water for human consumption.
