Who would you choose to be shipwrecked on a desert island with?

Well, that took me a half a second. GeorgeClooney of course! And when we are rescued,we will go to his place on Lake Como.

What is your favorite beach on Island?Hands down Fat Ladies Beach. I have been going there when it

was originally called “Fat Girls,” but then the usual crowd became Ladies, hence “Fat Ladies Beach.”

What is your Favorite Island Meal? Beet salad, grilled shrimp or scallops, accompanied by a great bottle of Pinot Grigio at Cinco.

What is your favorite benefit to living year-round on Nantucket?I have lived on Nantucket year round for over 30years. (how could that be?) This is the most giving

community, and always there for you in time ofneed. The most special gift is my lifelong friendships.

What do you do on a day off?This time of year I love to spend time gardening.It’s hard work, great exercise and rewarding results.

What’s on your play list?Soaking up the sun at the beach, charter fishing with friends, teaching myself the piano, and going to my son Dylan’sBaseball games

What was the first house you bought, and why?The first house that I purchased on the island was a duplex on Pine Grove Lane. I was in my late20s, and with the apartment income, it became very affordable. I think I paid $167,000 for it atthe time.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did they teach you?My sister, Nancy, passed away from pancreatic cancer after a three-year battle.When she wasdiagnosed, they gave her three months. I had just given birth to my son.The lesson is that life isway too short, and sometimes very unfair. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Live everyday like it is yourlast. Confirm your love.And, remember that people don’t remember you for what you said orwhat you did, but how you made them feel.
