Sample Project Problem Statement

• Students will plan a design for a dam with a reservoir and floodgates to allow overflow.

• They will also design a system to divert water away from the floodplain of homes and towns should the dam burst.

• Have students test their dam using the paper and 2x2 brick water method.

• Students should modify their designs based on results of testing.
