1. Introduction of the Event/ Activity:

International Women's Day (TWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to

commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a

focal point in the women's rights movements bringing attention to issues such as gender

equality, reproductive rights, and violence against women.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political

achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's

achievements or rally for women's equality.

The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2021 is "Women in Leadership:

Achieving an equal future in a COVID_19 world'. A challenged world is an alert world. And

from challenge comes change. Purple, green and white are the colors of International Women's

Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity. Green symbolizes hope. White represents purity. albeit

a contnonersial cocept. The colors originated from the Wonen's Social and Political Union

(WSPU in the 1 K in 1908.

nternational Wonmen's Day is not country, group, nor organization specific. No one government,

NGO. charity, corporation, academic institution. women's network. or media hub is solely

responsible for 1nternational Women's Day. The day belongs to all groups collectively

every where. Gloria Steinem. world-renowned feminist. journalist and activist one explained. The

story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist, nor to any one organization.

but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." So make International Women's

Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

2. Objectives:

For Participants:

General Objectives:

At the end of the program the participants will understand the importance of

International Women's Day.

Specific objectives:

At the end of the program participants will be able to:

Reflect the past experiences of the women in development and seeking

opportunities for larger role for women in all areas.

Enhance awareness about the rights of the women and her worth.

Equal participation is the key concept of this event.

For Students:

General Objectives:

At the end of the program students will know the history, highlighting key

milestones and achievements and aims to further promote and raise awareness of events,

importance of women in the society.

Specific objectives:

At the end of the program partieipants will be able to:

To climinate or renmove gender-based inequalities.

To know the rights of the women.

To recognize the wonen achievers.

To know the importance of providing proper education to all girls and women in

the society.

3. Brief Information on Event:

A grand celebration was organized to mark the International Women's Day on 08" of March

in the Sumandeep Nursing College, Multi-purpose halls scheduled at 11am. This celebration

was led by Mrs. Vruti Patel, ICC & Women Welfare Committee Representative, SNC followed

by the Student's Council.

The program was anchored by Ms. Siji Varghese. The lamp was lightened by the dignitaries

named Prof. Sheuli Sen- Principal, HOD of MSN Dept. - Mrs. Sonal Patel,

Mrs. Vruti Patel- Organizer of the program.

The Unveiling of the theme was done by Prof. Sheuli Sen-Principal with a motivating and

empowering speech.

Later the key note address of the event was given by Mr. Abner James- President of

Student's Council.

The poem recitation was done by Ms. Kesha Dave.

The Role play was performed by first year M.Sc. Nursing and first year B.Sc. Nursing students on

depicting the typical problems faced by the Women in earlier era!

The panel discussion was done 1s" year M.Sc. Students which was moderated by Mr. Jayraj Patel.

Followed by open floor discussion among the panelist and audience on the same.

The l year B.Sc. nursing Students gave a dance performance.

The Panel Discussion which means live or virtual discussion about a specif+c topic amongst a

selected group of panelists who share differing perspectives in front of a large audience

There were 2 groups of panelists including 3 students in each. The topics of each member trom

panelists are listed below along with name of the speaker:
