Next week brings a host of events, starng with the school elecon winning Star Party running the school on Monday please see separate leer here on page 3; KS 2 being part of the Pulsar games on Wednesday morning and Sports Day on Friday: KS2 10-12.10, family picnic between 12.10 and 1.10pm, followed by KS1 1.10-3pm. The PTFA are working hard in to prepare for the Summer Fete - Saturday 8th July 12-2.30pm. It sounds amazing with FREE CIRCUS WORKSHOPS AND SHOW!!!! Please come along as it promises to be a great aſternoon. Raffle ckets are now available to purchase and to help sell – there are some fantasc prizes including GIFFORDS CIRCUS TICKETS. Please can you sell as many as possible to your friends and family? All proceeds go to the school and the office has more ckets! If you like gardening and are able to lend a hand on Sunday morning, there is a community group who will be meeng at school to connue the development of the community allotment. It started with Year 5 enjoying a fun packed secondary experience at SWR – the science lab was most popular especially burning lots of different substances and ended with Year 5 today vising the SS Great Britain as part of their Titanc adventure. In between me, Year 1 and Year 3 both excelled along with the school council at helping choose the new teachers for September. Year 4 and 6 had a fantasc art day at the Museum in the Park meeng professional arsts whilst our Athlecs squad members did us proud. We are looking at ways of increasing the opportunies for children to learn an instrument and are working with the Local Authority Music hub to provide a broader range of instruments for the children to learn. The children enjoyed the strings professional musicians lile introducon at Thursdays celebraon assembly. We hope enough children are inspired to start a stringed instrument to have the teacher come regularly to school. Next week the drumming teacher hopes to share his talents. We are pleased to appoint Poppy Baker (Year 1) and Milly Jackson (Year3) who will join us in September. Miss Jackson will be meeng her new class next Tuesday and Miss Baker will be meeng hers in July. We are sure you will make them warmly welcome and enjoy the skills and talents they bring to their classes and the school. CLASS NEWS

Reception Class In Maths we have been doing our first pictogram using our food diaries. We have also performed a class investigation: some of us have eaten beetroot or sweetcorn to see if it changes our poo! The results are coming in! Y1 Class In English, we have finished our booklets on the four seasons. Now we are drawing our pictures. We have also been interviewing some teachers. They planned fun lessons. We have also been learning about weather and writing our own news weather report. By Rebecca and Jessica. Y2 Class We have ben writing letters to Doug the firefighter and Vinny at FGR. By Lola W. We’ve been trying new foods with the Star Anise chefs. By Toby. Y3 Class We’ve had lots of different teachers this week—we even got to interview some of them! We did Mixed Problems in Maths and in English, we continued writing our Explorers Reports. Y4 Class In English, we have been writing non-chronological reports on climate change. In Maths, we have been doing symmetry. In Topic, we have been drawing a map of Queensland. We also completed a Maths test. We went to Stroud Museum with Year 6 and met 4 experts. By Theo J. Y5 Class On Monday, we had a really fun day at an experience day at SWR. On Tuesday, we were back at school to start the tests—we did a spag, spelling and an arithmetic test. On the third day of the week, we did another maths test but it was a reasoning and a reading test. We also played a friendly match with the Year 3’s. Today we will be writing an APP. By Emily & Daisy. Y6 Class This week we went on a trip to Stroud Museum to ‘Meet the Experts’. It was fascinating and we learned about bats, dormice, moths and birds of prey. We have decided on the Y6 trip and we plan to go to Airhop in Bristol. We have also organised next Monday’s Fun Day. You will remember , Star Party are running the school and there will be a water fight. We can’t wait!
