User Profile: MyToday • Method followed for Data Sample collection: We have used the

SMS based functionality and the Interactive Competitions feature of MyToday platform for this data collection.– Round 1: SURVEY

• Subscribers were asked to participate in SURVEY: Ads for the same was sent on regular MyToday keywords’ feeds

• 20000 subscribers subscribed to the keyword SURVEY• On this keyword, 10 questions were published, one per day: This was done

using the IC feature.• Sample questions: Demographic details (ASL), handset details, bill amount,

professional details, internet access• Response was received via SMS and later compiled

– Round 2: MYINFO• Subscribers were sent alerts asking for their demographic details if they

wish to continue with the free MyToday services.• Subscribers send messages with the keyword MYINFO prefixed to their

details.• This is done periodically, after analyzing the incoming response.• This process is still continuing, and is expected to continue before every

subscriber receives at least single MYINFO alert.

• The Age related profiling is updated as on 19th September 2007. For this analysis a sample of size 57,086 records was used.

• The gender related profiling is updated as on 27th September 2007. For this analysis a sample size of 56,472 records was used.

• The Metro-Keyword usage is on absolute numbers of subscribers and this is as on 8th August 2007.

• Sample size for Geographic distribution of subscribers was 32,352 and it was done as on 20th August 2007.

• For Keyword usage profiling for Tier-1 cities’ users (list A with 22 cities), the sample size was 14,682 records and it was done as on 20th August 2007.

• For Keyword usage profiling for Tier-1 cities’ users (list B with 36 cities), the sample size was 20,276 records and it was done as on 20th August 2007.
