Seven Principles of Effective Teaching: A Practical Lens for Evaluating Online Courses

Even the ExpertsI definitely am looking for an undergraduate degree from an in-person program first and foremost.
I would value an online graduate degree from a bigger name higher than an in-person from a local, lesser name program...
I still would value the in-person higher than the online for the same university. Given my passion around distance learning, it's a bit weird to admit this bias.Tony Karrer 2006

A Few Years LaterMy thinking has definitely changed over the past few years
I still value an in-person degree a little bit higher.
If going for an online degree allows you to attend a better program, then that ranks higher than a lower quality but local degree.Tony Karrer 2010 http://elearningtech.blogspot.com/2010/01/value-of-online-degree.html#ixzz0h2XAHiBs

Did you know thatEvery semester we see students that say
My advisor told me online classes would be easier.
My advisor just put me in the class.
I didnt know the class was online/Second-LifeFacts:Online classes are MORE work for some students
