Physical Environment

The Grand Canyon

The canyon is the most famous natural attraction in the USA and possibly in theworld. The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in theU.S. state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Parkone of the first national parks in the United States. Tourists have arrived at a muchquicker rate since the canyon achieved National Park status in 1919.

The Painted Desert

The Painted Desert is an arid region in northeastern Arizona noted for its brightly

colored rock formations. The Painted Desert is part of the Colorado Plateau and

extends in an arc along the Little Colorado River between Grand Canyon National

Park and Petrified Forest National Park. The colors vary in brightness with the angleand amount of sunlight and are most vivid at sunrise and sunset. Dust in the air often

creates a pink or purple haze over the region.

The Alaska Range

The Alaska Range is a crescent-shaped mountain range in southern Alaska. It

stretches some 500 miles (800 km), first northwestward and then southwestward,

from Canada's Coast Mountains to the Aleutian Range on the Alaska Peninsula.

The All-American Canel

The All-American Canel is an irrigation canal in southern California. Imperial Dam

near Yuma, Arizona, diverts water from the Colorado River into the canal, which runs

generally westward for 80 miles (130 km) through the Imperial Valley.

National Monuments

From the avenues and boulevards of New York City to the hills of Hawaii, Americas

national monuments comprise an eclectic group of statues, natural areas, prehistoric

ruins, historic military fortifications, and fossil sites that attract millions of visitors

each year.

Human Environment

National Mall and Memorial Parks was officially established in 1965. Areas within this

premier park provide visitors with ample opportunities to commemorate presidential

legacies; honour the courage and sacrifice of war veterans; and celebrate the United

States commitment to freedom and equality.

The Navy Pier in Chicago was opened in 1916. It is built on the shore of the lake

Michigan. It served as a campus and military training facility.

The temple square at Salt Lake City is a ten-acre block located in the middle of

downtown Salt Lake City.

The Metropolitan Museum in New York was founded in 1870. It has a permanent

collection containing more than two million works of art, divided into nineteen

curatorial departments. The museum is also home to encyclopedic collections of

musical instruments, costumes and accessories, and antique weapons and armor

from around the world.

The American Museum of Natural History has been one of the worlds preeminent

science and research institutions, renowned for its collection s and exhibitions that

illuminate millions of years of the earths evolution, from the birth of the planet

through the present day.

Conclusion

I would like to visit the United States of American as I think that it is a really

wonderful place with lots of wonderful attractions. They are alot of nice places and

buildings where you can visit. The museums can tell us alot about the United States

of Americas history. We will be able to learn alot from these places.
