Appropriate engineering

controls

Good general ventilation (typically 10 air changes per hour) should be used. Ventilation ratesshould be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation,or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. Ifexposure limits have not been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level. Eyewash facilities and emergency shower must be available when handling this product.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

Eye/face protection Chemical splash goggles where there is a potential for eye contact.

Skin protection

Hand protection Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves.

Other None normally required. If unable to avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin, wearimpervious clothing.

Respiratory protection Not normally required with adequate ventilation. If engineering controls do not maintain airborneconcentrations below recommended exposure limits (where applicable) or to an acceptable level(in countries where exposure limits have not been established), an approved respirator must beworn.

Thermal hazards Wear appropriate thermal protective clothing, when necessary.

General hygiene

considerations

When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Always observe good personal hygiene measures, suchas washing after handling the material and before eating, drinking, and/or smoking. Routinelywash work clothing and protective equipment to remove contaminants.

NOW THAT YOUR GYM IS COATED, HERE'S HOW TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND ATTRACTIVE. . .

You have just spent considerable time, effort and money refinishing your wood gym floor. In order to maximize this investment and to retain a high level of appearance, a well-planned and executed maintenance program must be implemented. The following recommendations will help keep your floor clean and attractive:

1. Prohibit the wearing of street shoes on the gym floor. Even some of the rubber soled athleticshoes that are so popular can damage your floor due to sand and grit embedded in the tread. Ifusers are wearing their rubber soled athletic shoes on the street, they should have a different pairfor the gym floor. Entrances to the gym should include a walk-off mat that catches both feettwice. This could be a mesh type synthetic mat that allows sand and grit to rub off the bottom ofthe shoe and fall into the mesh of the mat.

2. Dust mop the floor frequently using a mop properly treated with Hillyard Super Hil-Tone. Asa general rule your gym floor should be dust mopped after every two hours of use.

The dust mop used on your gym floor should be dedicated only to the gym and not used on other floors in your building.

The proper preparation and treatment of your dust mops will insure effective performance on the floor.

a. For new or freshly laundered mops, determine the length of the dust mop (in feet) andapply two ounces of Super Hil-Tone per foot; i.e. a four-foot mop would require 8 ounces of Super Hil-Tone for the initial treatment.

b. After the gym has been dust mopped, the mop should be taken outside and shakenvigorously to free all dirt and grit, which is clinging to the strands.

c. Periodic retreatment of the dust mop with Super Hil-Tone is necessary. This should bedone daily. Apply the Super Hil-Tone at the rate of one ounce per foot of mop length; i.e. a four foot mop would require only 4 ounces of Super Hil-Tone for each retreatment.

Dust mops should be treated the day before they are to be used and hung overnight with the wicks hanging down. This allows the Super Hil-Tone to penetrate evenly into the wicks and prevent uneven application.

3. Clean the gym floor weekly using a solution of Hillyard Super Shine-All in an automaticscrubber or damp mop operation. This will remove stubborn soils, spills, perspiration and otherforeign matter from the floor. Mix the Super Shine-All at the rate of two ounces per gallon ofwater. When using an automatic scrubber, equip the machine with either a white or red pad. Besure to use a clean pad.
