• Simple black, white and red colour scheme. The colours are very soft so it is not too garish. • The main image is very iconic. Having two of the band members behind the masthead and the front man in front of it really brings him out. They also contrast a lot with the front man with dark hair and light clothing and others with light hair and dark clothing. The front man looks thoughtful and mysterious and gives it something of a religious feel.

• This special issue has a brighter, more garish colour scheme, a lot more pictures and a lot of writing.• The main image in this issue is more in your face. This is Billie Joe Armstrong making a statement. This is lively and fun.• There is a lot going on this cover and isn’t quite in keeping with ‘Kerrang!’s’ usual straight lines.

• The colours, in this issue, are greyer with a grey, red and beige colour scheme. There is not very much information of what is inside compared to the other issues and no insets.• The mood of this issue is darker than the other two. The frightening mask adds to the tone of the glum colour scheme making a shocking picture. • Because this issue revolves around Slipknot’s new look it has to make a statement. This is why the main image is centred with little not to do with it covering it.
