Night of Song: “That’s Amore!” October 4, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., Beckendorf Conference CenterSpend an evening in Italy with us - it’s National Italian American Month and, in celebration, LSC-Tomball musicians are exploring Italian language, culture, and music through the song literature of the centuries.

Enjoy light Italian-themed refreshments in an evening that will culminate in our own special version of “Volare!”

Charley’s Aunt by Brandon ThomasOctober 13 - 15, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center

Jack Chesney loves Kitty Verdun and Charley loves Miss Amy Spettigue. They invite the ladies to meet Charley’s wealthy aunt from Brazil, “where the nuts come from.” Cancelling her visit at the last minute, the millionaire aunt sends the boys into cataclysmic confusion. What do they do now? The problem is solved by drafting their feckless Oxford undergrad pal into a black satin skirt, bloomers and wig. As “Charley’s Aunt”, he pretends to be the aunt that the girls are expecting. This delightful farce will have you laughing on the edge of your seat.

Murderous Crossing by David Landau, Nikki SternNovember 17 - 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., Black Box Theatre - Join us for our dessert theatre!

The year is 1923 and audience members are passengers on board the HMS Victoria as it crosses the English Channel. The famous Inspector Clurrot has tracked down a homicidal mastermind hiding out on board. Meanwhile, the ship is the vessel of matrimony. But not everything is as it seems, and it turns out that the English Channel isn’t the only thing being crossed. Audience members will love this interactive evening as they help solve the murder.

TCCSTA State Play Festival entryFebruary 23 - 25, 2017 at 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center

This is the Texas Community College Speech and Theatre Association State Play Festival entry. We will be competing with 11-14 colleges from across the state of Texas. It will happen over a 4 day period with two adjudicators critiquing and ranking each play. This is a wonderful experience for our students and enables them to see other community college productions from around Texas. LSC-Tomball has brought home superiors and best acting awards for many years.

Greater North Houston Music FestivalApril 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., Performing Arts Center Lone Star College-Tomball will proudly host the Greater North Houston Music Festival. The mission of the festival is to showcase the work of dedicated music educators and students, provide a positive environment in which to perform and receive feedback, and bring together the community of music educators in the region for collaborative ventures and idea sharing. The event will feature performance ensembles from K-12 schools around the region.

Plays directed by LSC-Tomball students and written by LSC-Tomball students and various authors, this delightful evening highlights the talents of LSC-Tomball students as directors and playwrights. It is always an exciting evening of raw talent that is a must see by audiences.

July 13 - 15, 2017 at 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts CenterWinner of 5 Tony Awards (including Best Book and Best Original Score), The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz age musical featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another. The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.

Ticket Information

The theatre program at Lone Star College-Tomball offers diverse academic, aesthetic and theatrical experiences giving both drama majors and interested students multiple performance and technical opportunities. The department offers drama students the ability to design, construct, direct, act and manage theatrical productions.

The department’s drama season offers the community a variety of performances including a summer musical. Auditions for productions are open to any LSC-Tomball student during the year and to the community for the summer musical.

The LSC-Tomball music program provides the first two years of undergraduate coursework and technical training for the region’s student artists in an academically rigorous and performance-rich environment. The department hosts formal concerts, student and faculty recitals, outreach programs, as well as interactive performance events in smaller venues. In addition to training and performance opportunities, the music department explores regional partnerships that enable students to proactively explore a diversity of careers in music.
