Create Multi Counter Maintenance Plan IP43 This guide explains how to create a multi counter maintenance plan.

In the case of a multiple counter plan, there are no individual packages as there are for performance-based and time-based maintenance plans. When a cycle is due, all the operations from the assigned task list are automatically due.

Activities include:

Create a multi counter maintenance plan.

1. Enter the transaction code IP43 in the SAP Command box. Click to start the transaction. OR Drill down to the transaction through the SAP Menu: Logistics Plant Maintenance Preventive Maintenance Maintenance Planning Maintenance Plans Create Multiple Counter Plan.

Create Maintenance Plan: Initial

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name Description

Maint. plan cat. Enter the maintenance plan category.

In most cases this will be Maintenance order. If notifications are used as the category these notifications will have to be processed into Work Orders. If using Maintenance orders as the category, work orders will be automatically generated.

Create Maintenance Plan: Multiple cntr plan

Multi counter plans enable the creation of maintenance plans that are triggered by different cycles. For example, where maintenance needs to be performed either 3 monthly or 150 hourly



Maintenance plan Enter the Maintenance plan description. Example: Primary Service Back Hoe

Cycle Enter the cycle. Example: 3

U.. Enter the unit of measure. Example: MON

Maintenance cycle text Enter the maintenance cycle text. Example: 3 Monthly

Cycle Enter another Cycle on the next line. Example: 150

U Enter the Unit of measure. Example: H

Maintenance cycle text Enter the Maintenance cycle text. Example: 150 Hourly

Counter Enter the Counter.

The counter in this case would be recording the operating hours of the unit and is entered against all cycles.

5. Scroll down to view all maintenance item fields.


6. Complete the following fields under the tab:


Maintenance Item Enter the Maintenance Item description. Example: Primary Service Back Hoe

Functional loc Enter the Functional location. Example: 219047901

7. Click to populate the fields under the Planning data area with the defaults from the functional location that has been selected.

8. As required, complete/review the following field:


Priority Enter the Priority of the task.

The Priority should be determined by the criticality of the task to be performed on the scheduled date. If the task must be performed on the date which is set when the plan call is generated then the priority should be High. Example: Medium

MaintActivityType Enter the Maintenance Activity Type.

For example: 110 Routine Service 140 Component Lubrication 150 - Calibration Example: 110



9. Double-click the Functional loc. field to display the master data.

10. Click the tab to display the Construction type (Assembly).

Display Functional Location: Master data

The Assembly number for the functional location is required to locate the appropriate task list. Make note of the construction type for the selected functional location.

11. Click .

12. Click in the Task list area.

13. Complete the following fields:


Usage Enter 01 to limit the selection to primary maintenance task lists only.

Example: 01

Assembly Enter the assembly code.

The Assembly is the Construction type assigned to the functional location.

Example: 60028111

14. Click .


15. Scroll up to view the packages associated with the task list.




16. Click .




Sort field Enter the Sort field.

The sort field is used to manage the deadline monitoring process which automatically reschedules maintenance plans and creates maintenance orders (or notifications).

18. Click .


Multi counter plans accommodate situations where regular maintenance is to be scheduled at one parameter, cycle and package, or any other parameter with an and/or relationship. For example, every 6 months or 4000 hours. These parameters are assigned in the maintenance plan header, and this type of maintenance plan can have one or more items, so the cycle and package assigned in the header is applied to all maintenance plan items.



Scheduled Period Enter the Scheduled Period.

The scheduling period determines the length of time for which the system creates maintenance calls during initial maintenance plan scheduling.

The system displays the message, "Maintenance plan xxxx created."

23. You have completed this transaction.

Result

You have created a multi counter Maintenance plan, ready for scheduling.
