GE Druck, a world leading manufacturer of portable calibrationequipment, introduces the MTC 2000 Marine Test Case. This willenable ship owners, handlers and marine engineers to comply withthe new Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) regulation for maintenancestandards.

In 1998, the International Safety Management (ISM) code of practicegoverning Safety Of Life At Sea became mandatory on certainocean going vessels and from 2002 all other vessels must comply.In particular, chapter IX of the SOLAS regulation - ‘Management forthe safe operation of ships’ - details preventative maintenanceprocedures that should be established to ensure the seaworthinessof ships at all times.

Designed specifically for convenient on-board use, the GE Druck MTC 2000 is a rugged marine standard transit case containing easyto use calibration tools which simplify the in-situ maintenance ofpressure, temperature and electrical equipment. The MTC2000 hasbeen certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in accordance with therules for classification of ships, high speed & light craft and mobileoffshore units.
