STEP ONE: DO THIS SECTION FIRST (CLASSWORK, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO WHILE YOU READ…. WHEN THIS PART IS OVER, YOU GO ON TO STEP TWO, SEE LEFT…)

This is where you take your notes during class. Either as you read or watch a film or listen to a presentation,

etc. Notes do not have to be in full sentences. You can abbreviate (abbrev.) You can diagram or draw picures:

After you are done with your notetaking on the page, you will pull out key words, phrases, ideas etc., and add them to the column on the left. THIS IS TYPICALLY HOMEWORK.

As a last step, you will write a page summary at the bottom of each page so that you can quickly “see” what is on each page of notes as you flip through your notes. (ALSO HOMEWORK)

LASTLY: Summary is written here after you have completed both sections above. It is a short summary explaining your notes in your own words. You should have a summary at the bottom of every page for quick reference, as it aids the eye as you flip through your notes.
