The Vanderbilt MS Finance is a rigorous, accelerated program designed for recent college graduates seeking careers in asset management, investment research, sales and trading, insurance, corporate finance and risk management. Vanderbilt MS FinanceToday, financial analysis skills are valued more than ever. Firms across all industries demand knowledgeable, well-trained individuals with finely tuned quantitative skills and expertise. The Vanderbilt Master of Science in Finance is a challenging, nine-month program designed to meet the needs of today’s businesses. Taught by Vanderbilt’s world-class finance faculty, the rigorous 32-credit-hour curriculum combines core coursework and electives, allowing students to customize their education to their goals.

CurriculumVanderbilt MS Finance students enroll in a common set of core courses that provide a solid foundation for quantitative analyses including optimal asset allocation, financial modeling and forecasting. Students then customize their degree by choosing from a wide array of MBA electives. As a result, all students master advanced and relevant career skills that give them the ability to successfully accept challenging assignments after graduation. Required courses include Accounting, Corporate Valuation, Derivatives, Econometrics, Financial Economics and Financial Modeling.

StudentsVanderbilt MS Finance students are analytically inclined individuals with either an undergraduate degree in a math-intensive field or relevant work experience. Students in the program possess strong quantitative skills and represent a diverse blend of academic backgrounds and undergraduate majors, including Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics and Finance.
