FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
I am extremely glad to place this issue of E-Vidyalaya Patrika for the
session 2018-19.
Talent, devotion, dedication and hard work play a major role in the
progress and achievement of any goal along with the best values being
inculcated in the young mind. Challenges faced with courage and vigour
help in bringing out all round perfection. I am pleased to say that the
innovative ideas and expressions present in the articles, stories and
poems etc. are the result of the zeal and enthusiasm of our students,
being motivated and steered in the right direction by our staff members.
Students of KV AFS Chandinagar are spreading their fragrance in all
fields. My congratulations to all my teachers, Students and parents for
producing 100 % result in Board Classes.
My extreme gratitude to our Hon’ble Commissioner, Additional
Commissioners, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners,
Chairman VMC for their valuable support and guidance in taking KV
AFS Chandinagar to greater heights. I also congratulate the students for
their sincere efforts under the able guidance of teachers, who have
helped them in bringing out this issue.

Dear Readers,
The present edition of the E-Patrika 2018-19 is a historical document of
the growth of the school. It informs the future generation of students
about the traditions built up of their school. This valuable publication is
the opportunity that students require to show their creative
talents. Along with academic studies, students are encouraged in games
and athletics, art and craft, science clubs, dramatics and various other
activities. These make the years in school interesting and worth
remembering. This school magazine is the window to the activities of the
school.
Our student authors have put across some amazing pieces of writing
displaying their creative thinking and writing skills. The works included
in this edition are extremely simple but will surely provide an
opportunity to peep into a child’s thought process and his or her
axiomatic creative thinking. It is actually a lovely experience to see these
enthusiastic writers voicing their feeling through stories, poems, and
jokes and initiating an adult role through various eye opening
discussions.
The publication of the school magazine included a lot of planning
compounded with team work and I was lucky to have a team of
motivated students who played a strong role in envisioning it.
I am thankful to all the blooming writers who have responded to my call
and penned their ideas for the newsletter. I also acknowledge constant
hard work of all the students whose contribution made this E-Patrika
more interesting and knowledge providing. I am also thankful to all the
teachers who proved to be as catalysts in mobilizing the students to write
their views and efficiently edited the write ups. It is their constant
support and guidance through the entire process of planning and
publication of this E-Patrika.
Finally, from the entire team of this E-Patrika I wish all the readers a
happy reading!

direction of the pot but he found that the second pot was full of pebbles. Again the
crow was sad. He now flew to another place in search of water. Suddenly he saw
the third pot. This time the crow was not happy. He thought that this pot is also full

A tree is fixed at a place, so we said that it is stationary. Similarly, a house, a school a
factory, electric poles and the telephone poles are all stationary objects which
remain fixed at a place. On the other hand a man, animals, Birds, cars, buses, train
ships and airplanes etc. do not remain stationary all the time. They can move when
it flies in the sky and a fish moves when it swims in the water. Similarly, a car or bus
moves on a road, a train moves on the track, a ship moves in water and an airplane
moves when it flies in air from one place to another. The moment of a body or
object is called motion. A common characteristic of all the moving bodies is that
they change their position with time.

Story
One upon a time, a king was visiting his kingdom to check whether his countrymen
were happy or not. On his way, he found an old man who was planting a small
coconut plant. After seeing this, he waited and after some time, he asked that old
man, why are you planting this plant, does it give fruits to you? He smiled and said,
instead of me, my son and grandson will eat them. It doesn’t matter whether I eat
those coconuts or not. Every one works for the betterment of their children and
then, those children will work hard for the betterment of their children this gives
our generation a great future. Next day, the king called that old person, awarded
with gold coins and saluted his thoughts and efforts.

would do it.
He really told the right one he said that is unreal and this one is real because the
symbol of real diamond is when the sunlight falls on the diamond the unreal
diamond is hot and real diamond is cold.

KARGIL WAR
The Pakistani army and Kashmiri insurgents crossed the Line Of Control between
India and Pakistan. They tried to occupy the land of India. Pakistan claimed that all
Kashmiri militants were fighting but it was proved that Pakistani army was also
directly involved in the war. About 30,000 Indian soldiers and about 5,000 intruders
fought against each other in this war. The Indian Army and The Indian Air Force with
the help of international cooperation attacked the Pakistani occupied areas and
gradually forced them to retreat back. This was one of the historic armed struggles
between the two countries.
