Largest public sector infrastructure project in America

This US $7.3bn rail link from Queens to Manhattan, includes twin 7m diameter tunnels – 15km of tunnelling in all – and a new eight platform terminus deep under Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal. Mott MacDonald is providing programme and construction management, working for New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to keep the project on budget and on schedule.

With over 100 years’ working in transport we have the experience and expertise to work in all aspects of transport planning. We have professionals working internationally on sustainability-related projects. Our transport planners carry out transport assessments, studies and travel plans on a wide range of projects, and work with organisations such as schools, colleges, hospitals and major employers. In addition, our transport planners are involved in projects such as the development and application of transport models, which includes the application of bespoke software, data manipulation and analysis. Work placements

Gaining industry insight helps you to see how your learning can be applied in practice. We therefore offer paid summer internships (6-12 weeks) and industrial placements (8-12 months) across most of our business sectors.

During your placement you will work with experienced teams, giving you the chance to test your technical skills and get a taste of what it’s like to be part of a global consultancy. How involved you get is down to you but the more questions you ask, the better your experience with us will be.

We’ll give you a realistic view of our world so you can decide if it’s the industry you want to work in. We look to recruit those students who have impressed us during their placements onto our graduate scheme, so remember this could be the start of your career with Mott MacDonald.

Our recruitment process runs from October through until the following March. Your application form will be used to match your skills to our needs.

Once you have decided you want to work for us, apply early as we fill positions quickly. Closing dates sometimes change.

On successfully passing the first stage of the recruitment process you will be asked to take an online test and if your application meets our entry criteria it will be circulated to the teams in the sectors and locations where you want to work. If you are short-listed for a role we will contact you to discuss the position and interview process.
