History of Mosaics

They are usually made of small pieces of glass or stone.

The earliest found mosaics are from Mesopotamia around 3,000 BC.

Mosaic derives from a Greek word meaning “of the muses.” The muses were the inspiration of art in Greek Mythology.

Paper examples

Assignment

You are going to get a piece of paper and draw an image that you want on it. This image should be detailed, but not so detailed that you can’t add paper to certain sections.

Please no logos. You will grab several magazines and find

colors that you need to put into your image. You will use a glue stick to put the pieces of paper on your image.

I will laminate your finished artwork so all the papers stay on.
