Geoff Balzano is head of adviser solutions for Morningstar in
Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He was appointed to
this role in early 2014, whilst serving as chief executive officer
of Morningstar UK, a position he held until 2015.
As CEO, Geoff oversaw the rapid growth of Morningstar UK,
as well as several company acquisitions. Geoff has also led
Morningstar’s response to a number of industry challenges,
including the readying of the company’s adviser software
products and research for the UK’s Retail Distribution Review.
Muna Abu-Habsa is a senior analyst on the Morningstar
manager research team. She leads UK-based fund
research for the European and global-equity sectors, and
also covers UK-equity and property funds.
Muna joined Morningstar in 2006 and initially spent 18
months spearheading projects to improve the delivery of UK
fund data, and also serving as a performance and portfolio
methodology specialist for key clients. She then joined
Morningstar’s manager research team in 2007.
Muna holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, with first-class
honours, from the School of Oriental and African Studies
(SOAS), University of London. She also holds the Investment
Management Certificate (IMC).

Clive Beagles has 25 years industry experience, he joined
JOHCM in September 2004.
Clive co-manages the JOHCM UK Equity Income Fund,
alongside James Lowen, and is one of the UK’s most highly
respected equity income managers. Prior to joining
JOHCM, Clive worked at Newton Investment Management
as Investment Leader, UK Equities and managed the successful
Newton Higher Income Fund for three years. Clive holds

Jackie Beard is director of manager research services for
Europe, the Middle East and Africa, responsible for
leading the European launch of Morningstar’s Manager
Research Services.
Jackie joined Morningstar in 2008 as director of fund
research for Morningstar UK and headed the roll
out of Morningstar’s qualitative fund research and ratings
for funds available for sale to UK investors. From mid-2010
Jackie focused on UK investment trusts and pioneered
greater transparency from closed-end funds on their holdings.
In 2012, she led the launch of Morningstar’s qualitative

Peter Eerdmans is co-head of Emerging Market Fixed Income
at Investec Asset Management. He is jointly responsible
with Werner Gey van Pittius for all global emerging market debt
strategies. Peter is also responsible for Asian markets within
the team.
Peter joined Investec Asset Management in 2005 from Watson
Wyatt, where he was responsible for bond and currency
research. Prior to his time at Watson Wyatt, he spent six years
as a senior portfolio manager responsible for global bond
management at Robeco, where he helped develop the
credit process and led on numerous projects improving the
process and tools of the department.
He graduated in 1995 with a Masters degree in Econometrics
from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

John Bennett has a 28-year track record of managing
European equities. He joined Henderson as a
Director of European Equities in April 2011, as part of
the Gartmore acquisition.
John manages a number of Continental and Pan European
funds as well as European long/short funds. He
received the Fund Manager of the Year 2014 award from
Finanzen-Verlag.
John joined Gartmore in 2010 from GAM where he spent
17 years as a fund manager. During this time he managed their
flagship European long only and European equity L/S
hedge fund, which was launched in June 1998. Prior to GAM,
John was a fund manager at Ivory and Sime and has
been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in
Scotland since 1987.

Jeremy Beckwith is director of manager research for
Morningstar UK, responsible for leading the team of analysts
who research open- and closed-end funds managed from
the UK, and who determine the Morningstar Analyst Ratings
for those funds.
Jeremy has more than three decades of investment industry
experience. Between 1990 and 1998, Jeremy led the
Merrill Lynch Global Asset Management UK team and went
on to lead the Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Europe,
Australasia and Far East Equities team.
In 2003, he was appointed CIO for Kleinwort Benson Private
Bank. More recently, Jeremy served as interim Chief
Investment Officer for Nutmeg, and was a founding partner at
independent financial adviser, London Wall Partners LLP.
Jeremy holds an MA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Nicholas J. Gartside, Managing Director, is the International
Chief Investment Officer of our Global Fixed Income,
Currency & Commodities (GFICC) group. In addition, he is the
co-manager of our multi-sector fixed income products
and serves on the Currency Investment Policy Committee (CIPC).
Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Nick was at Schroder
Investment Management for eight years, initially as a euro
government bond portfolio manager. In 2007, he
moved to the global bond team as a global government
bond portfolio manager and most recently served as the
Head of Global Fixed Income.
His previous roles were at Mercury Asset Management/
Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Nick earned a
B.A. in History and Politics from Durham University and an
M.Phil. in International Relations from Cambridge
University. Nick is a CFA charterholder and holds the
Investment Management Certificate from the UK Society
of Investment Professionals.

Jose Garcia Zarate is a senior analyst on Morningstar’s
European passive research team, covering ETFs, ETPs and index
funds. Before joining Morningstar in 2010, Jose spent
seven years as a senior European government bond analyst
for 4cast, an economic consulting firm and financial market
research provider.
Prior to 4cast, Jose was a macroeconomic analyst and
Eurozone sovereign bond markets analyst for S&P MMS, and
previous to that a macroeconomic country analyst for
Hilfe Research, an economic consulting firm in London, for
two years. He began his career as an analyst intern for Spain’s
economic ministry, working in the external trade department
in the ministry’s Chicago office.

Dan Kemp is co-head of investment consulting and portfolio
management for the Morningstar Investment Management
group. He also oversees and supports Morningstar’s
Discretionary Portfolio Service and is a member of the Portfolio
Review Committee.
Dan joined Morningstar in 2014 from Albemarle Street Partners,
an investment consultancy partnership that he co-founded
in 2012. Prior to Albemarle, he worked for Saltus Partners,
managing the firm’s flagship Saltus Multi Asset Class Fund. He
also previously worked as fund manager and head
of fund research for Williams de Broë (formerly Christows). He
has 17 years’ experience in research, investment management
and investment consulting.

Nizam Hamid is currently Head of Sales for WisdomTree
Europe, which is the European arm of WisdomTree
Asset Management, a world class provider of ETFs. He started
his career as a Quantitative Analyst in the 1990s and then
moved to Deutsche Bank as Managing Director, in
Portfolio and Index Strategy, where he spent 10 years building
their global ETF research strategy. After this role, Nizam
was Managing Director, as Head of Sales Strategy for EMEA at
Blackrock, where he was instrumental in a number of
new product development initiatives. He then moved to
Lyxor Asset Management. Whilst working at Lyxor, he
was a Managing Director, as Head of ETF Strategy and Deputy
Head of ETFs. Nizam managed the majority of ETF
product development and structuring, and worked closely
with external Delta One trading and sales desks across Europe.
Previous firms have also included the FTSE Group and
C8 Investments. Nizam holds a Degree in Economics from
the University of Liverpool.
Robin Johnson is co-head of investment consulting and
portfolio management for the Morningstar Investment Manage-
ment group. He also oversees and supports Morningstar’s
Discretionary Portfolio Service and is a member of the Portfolio
Review Committee.
Robin joined Morningstar in 2007 from Mellon Global
Investors, where he supported the institutional business
development of the multi-boutique asset management group.
Prior to that, he headed a team of analysts within the
research department at Bestinvest. Robin has more than 15
years’ experience analysing investment managers across
all asset classes.

Kenneth Lamont is a fund analyst for Morningstar.
Within the Morningstar research team, Kenneth covers
European passive funds.
Before joining Morningstar in September 2013, Kenneth
was a research analyst at Mergermarket, where he
covered the infrastructure finance sector and previously an
associate at Markit, where he held an operational role within
the portfolio valuations team.
Kenneth holds a MA in business economics and marketing from
the University of Dundee and an MSc in investment, banking
and finance from the University of Glasgow. In addition, he
holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
Paul Mason is the economics editor of Channel 4 and a
regular columnist in The Guardian. He is the author of several
books, including Meltdown, an account of the 2008
crisis, and Why It’s Kicking Off Everywhere, about the Arab
Spring and Occupy movements. Prior to joining Channel 4 he
worked for 12 years covering business and economics
for BBC Newsnight. He is visiting professor of economics at
Wolverhampton University.

Prior to joining the regulator, Rory Percival worked in
the industry for around 20 years and has Chartered Financial
Planner status. He joined the regulator in 2006 and has
been involved with high profile projects such as pension
switching, structured products, platforms and intermediaries,
risk profiling, centralised investment propositions,
mystery shopping in banks, RDR implementation, RDR
adviser charges and services, non-advised/simplified advice and
due diligence on products and services.

Daniel Needham is recently named president as well as chief
investment officer of the Morningstar Investment Management
group, effective 2 February 2015.
Daniel will take up the role of president in addition to his

& Pensions Research for Credit Suisse Investment Bank.
His global macro-based research links Global Demographics &
Pensions to economic growth, debt, asset prices etc.
He presents to a global client base (30+ countries) and also
speaks at approx. 60 global annual conference events.
He is a Senior Research Associate of LSE’s Financial Markets
Group and guest professor for LBS’s Finance department.
Amlan had a distinguished university teaching career over
ten years at BU School of Management, University of
Iowa Business School and the University of London. Amlan has

Pawel Rokicki heads Investment Trends’ London branch, where
he brings his 15 years’ experience as analyst and
statistician acquired in Australia. Pawel has been involved
with Investment Trends research projects since 2004 and

His area of focus includes equities, Exchange Traded Funds
and leveraged trading products. Pawel delivers insights to

Matthew Radgowski is chief operating officer for the
Morningstar Investment Management group.
Matthew took up the role of COO in 2015. Prior to that, he
was managing director, Americas, for Morningstar
Investment Management. In this role, Matthew oversaw
day-to-day business operations and helped to guide strategy
and key initiatives for the Investment Management group’s
four U.S.-based business lines, including Investment Advisory,
Indexes, Retirement Solutions, and Managed Portfolios.
Matthew has more than 18 years of industry experience,
with leadership roles in companies that serve the
asset management, advisor, and retirement markets. He
held various positions at Ibbotson Associates from
1999 to 2006, including head of its retirement advice business.
Most recently, Matthew served as a managing director for
Horizon Investments, where he was responsible for
development of new managed account and registered
fund solutions. Before Horizon, he was a managing director
for Wilshire Associates.

Cormac Weldon is head of Artemis’ US equity team. He studied
accounting and finance at Dublin City University, graduating
in 1987. He worked initially for KPMG before moving to Provident
Mutual in 1991, where he became a US equity analyst.
Between 1993 and 1997 he worked as a fund manager
for the British Gas Pension Fund. Cormac joined Threadneedle
in 1997, becoming head of the company’s North America
team and the lead manager of the respected Threadneedle
American Select, Threadneedle American Smaller
Companies and Threadneedle American funds in 2001, 2005
and 2011 respectively. He joined Artemis in 2014.
Cormac has managed the Artemis US Equity and US
Select funds since launch in September 2014 and the Artemis
US Smaller Companies Fund since launch in October 2014.

Dr. Stephen Wendel is a behavioral social scientist and the
Principal Scientist at HelloWallet, where he conducts
hundreds of formal experiments to understand and improve
savings behavior.
His latest book, Improving Employee Benefits, shows how
to use behavioral economics to help employees to take
action on their benefits. In 2013, he published Designing for
Behavior Change, which describes HelloWallet’s step-by-
step approach to applying behavioral economics and
psychology to product design. He’s the founder of the Action
Design Network, which teaches behavioral techniques to
over 2,500 practitioners across the U.S.
Steve has two fun little children who don’t care about
behavioral science at all.

Mihir Worah is CIO Real Return and Asset Allocation and a
managing director in the Newport Beach office. He is
a member of the Investment Committee, a generalist portfolio
manager and head of the real return and multi-asset
portfolio management teams. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001, he
was a postdoctoral research associate at the University
of California, Berkeley, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator
Center, where he built models to explain the difference between
matter and anti-matter. In 2012 he co-authored “Intelligent
Commodity Indexing,” published by McGraw-Hill. He
has 13 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in
theoretical physics from the University of Chicago
