Bread and Ideas from 1970 Our story begins with a passion that goes straight to the heart of the bread: that of Luigi Morato, who
in 1970 founded a workshop near Venice made of flour, love and yeast.
During the nineties from a small artisan business the company is transformed into an industrial reality, always faithful to the principles of the Italian tradition in the world of bread.
In 2009 Morato acquired the Pan dEste brand and also spread its rich products to dry bread substitutes like croutons and crispy delicious breadsticks.
Today, the same passion of the early years has been passed on to the second generation that with commitment and imagination creates products and format that anticipate the market trends and
meet the tastes of modern consumers.

The word tramezzino was invented by the poet Gabriele DAnnunzio, who created it to replace the English
word sandwich. Tramezzo sounds like in-between, with the addition of the diminutive suffix ino.
The sandwich was born in Turin, but it was Venice that gave it a rich filling and the unmistakable bulging shape.
