From the Monster Truck Banner Panel - Cream (A):• Fussy cut (1) 22 ½” x 42 ½” strip centered on the panel.

From the Flames - Flame (B), cut:• (2) 2” x 42 ½” WOF strips, piece as needed.• (2) 2” x 25 ½” WOF strips. • (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 54 ½” strips.• (2) 1 ½” x 36 ½” WOF strips.

From the Tossed Allover Trucks - Light Blue (C), cut:• (3) 5 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 5 ½” x 44 ½” strips.• (2) 5 ½” x 34 ½” WOF strips. From the Crushed Cars - White (D), cut:• (40) Template 1 triangles.

From the Tires - Red (E), cut:• (40) Template 1 triangles.

From the Modern Melody Basics - Navy (F), cut:• (3) 4 ⅞” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (20) 4 ⅞” squares. Cut the squares across (1) diagonal to make (40) 4 ⅞” triangles.

From the Checker - Black (G), cut:• (4) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 64 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 47 ½” strips.

From the Border Stripe - Red (H), cut:• (2) 7” x 84” Length of Fabric (LOF) strips. • (2) 7” x 64” LOF strips.

From the Modern Melody Basics - Black (I), cut:• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

From the Continuous Blocks - Black (J):• Fussy cut (10) 4 ½” squares, each centered on a monster truck.

From the Small Tossed Trucks - Blue (Backing), cut:• (2) 88” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 68” x 88” back.

1. Sew (1) 2” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 22 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2” x 25 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).

2. Sew (1) Fabric D-Template 1 triangle and (1) Fabric E-Template 1 triangle together. Sew (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric F triangle to the long side of the newly sewn triangle to make (1) Unit 1 square (Fig. 2). Repeat to make (20) Unit 1 squares total.

3. Repeat Step 2 and refer to Figure 3 for fabric identification and placement to make (20) Unit 2 squares.

4. Sew (1) Unit 1 square to the left side of (1) Unit 2 square, along the Fabric E sides, to make (1) Unit 3 strip (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (20) Unit 3 strips total.

14. Layer and quilt as desired.

15. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric I strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

16. Bind as desired.

5. Sew together (2) Unit 3 strips, (1) 4 ½” Fabric J square, (2) Unit 3 strips, (1) 4 ½” Fabric J square and (2) Unit 3 strips, in that order, to make the Left Side Border (Fig. 5). Repeat to make the Right Side Border (Fig. 6).

6. Sew together (1) 4 ½” Fabric J square, (2) Unit 3 strips, (1) 4 ½” Fabric J square, (2) Unit 3 strips and (1) 4 ½” Fabric J square, in that order, to make the Top Border (Fig. 7).Repeat to make the Bottom Border (Fig. 8).

10. Sew (1) 2” x 64 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 47 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

11. Center (1) 7” x 84” Fabric H strip on (1) side of the quilt top and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the quilt top and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

12. Repeat Step 11 to sew (1) 7” x 64” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the quilt top. To miter each corner, fold the quilt top on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 9).

Quilt Top Assembly(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)7. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 44 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 34 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

8. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

9. Sew the Left Side Border and Right Side Border to the left and to the right of the Center Block. Sew the Top Border and Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

13. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 9), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top.
