  • BRAINSTORMING 1) A magnetometer attached to the fin to measure direction relative of North. 2) Use a quadrature optical encoder on the shaft to determine change in direction refined by a gyroscope 3) Gray code optical encoder refined by a gyroscope for absolute location 4) Color sensor encoder for precise absolute location

  • PROGRESS/DEMO The color sensor is detecting color using the Freedom board and giving a digital return. A cross-section has been created to view how the color wheel and PVC sleeve will be mounted to the shaft
