Spring 2017 Newsletter - President’s ColumnGreetings to Friends of Upper Shores Library,

Spring is officially here and with that we welcome our friends who have been away during the winter months. For those of us who stayed in NJ we also were treated to possibly the warmest winter on record. Who would think that we would be sitting on the beach, basking in the warm sun, on President’s weekend?

April 9-15 is National Library Week, a time to acknowledge all who help make our library so special. As always, June Schneider-Borup, our branch manager, and staff schedule wonderful programs for all ages, share their knowledge and talents as they assist those in need, and always create welcoming and timely displays. We have been busy. The Friends 2016 General Account and records were audited and accepted on February 28, 2017. A Friends fundraiser, a Glass Mug Paint Party, was held at the library on Tuesday, March 28. While only a small group attended the event, they enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and guidance provided by Patty Lowe, Two Chicks & a Paintbrush. Thank you Lisa DeNicholas for making the arrangements.

An upcoming Upper Shores Friends fundraiser, a bus trip to Atlantic City to see the show, “The Temptations Review”, is planned for Wednesday, May 31. The deadline to register is May 1. Cost includes: round trip bus & gratuity, $20 for Slots, $20 for Food, & Tickets to the Show @ 3:30 pm. For more details, see page 5. We hope you will join us for a day of fun and entertainment.
