RAY MATTER—The Rays begin a 10-game homestand tonight return-ing home from a 2-4 road trip (1-2 at Toronto and 1-2 at New York)…yes-terday’s 12-3 win at Yankee Stadium snapped a 3-game losing streak…all nine Rays starters hit safely and scored a run for the first time since April 24, 2015 vs. TOR…the Rays have lost 5 of the last 7 games and are winless (0-3-1) in their last four series…over the longer haul, the Rays are 9-8 since July 27 when they were a season-high 20.0 GB and 13-13 follow-ing their worst-ever 3-24 stretch that sent them from 31-32 (5.5 GB) on June 16 to 34-56 (19.5 GB) on July 16.

THREES WERE WILD I—Yesterday at New York, the Rays scored 12 runs on the strength of a pair of 3-run homers by Nick Franklin and Corey Dickerson and a 3-run double by Evan Longoria…according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Rays have had three 3-RBI hits in only one other game in their history: July 20, 2003 vs. TEX, when the Devil Rays got three 3-run homers from Aubrey Huff, Al Martin and Travis Lee in a 15-4 win.

THREES WERE WILD II—The Rays hit two 3-run homers yesterday, the second time this month they have hit two 3-run homers in the same game and the only times they have done it this season…the Rays have hit six 3-run homers in August, most in the majors.

STREAKS END—Yesterday the Rays snapped their 3-game losing streak…tonight they will snap their club-record streak of 6 straight games in front of 40,000 fans, but they will also break a 2-game streak of game time temperatures of 95 degrees.
