Excellence in Research for Australia

• An assessment system that evaluates research quality in

Australian universities.

• Administered by the Australian Research Council (ARC).

• Attempts to measure quality of research irrespective of

volume

• Outcomes are reported publically by the ARC, and each

eligible discipline submitted by the University is rated

using a five point scale, with the highest rating of ‘5’

indicating a discipline is ‘Well above World Standard’.
