of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from July 4-9, 2020, entitled “Molecules

of Life: Towards New Horizons”. The 45th FEBS Congress is hosted by The Slovenian Biochemical Society in

collaboration with the Croatian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Ljubljana, a vibrant central European city with an indelible touch of the Mediterranean, is an attractive destination

providing excellent congress and accommodation facilities. We expect to bring together over 1600 scientists

from all over the world and have prepared an exciting scientific program discovering new horizons in life

About FEBS

Founded on 1st January 1964, The Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) has become one of Europe’s largest organisations in the molecular life sciences, with over 35.000 members across more than 35 biochemistry and molecular biology societies (its ‘Constituent Societies’) in different countries of Europe and neighbouring regions. FEBS thereby provides a voice to a large part of the academic research and teaching community in Europe and beyond. As a charitable organisation, FEBS promotes, encourages and supports biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular biophysics and related research areas in a variety of ways, with an emphasis in many programmes on scientific exchange and cooperation between scientists working in different countries, and on promotion of the training of early-career scientists. About FEBS CongressesThe FEBS Congress is one of the most visible activities of FEBS. As one of the largest bio-congresses in Europe, it provides a platform for international scientific exchange and showcases the newest developments in biochemistry, molecular biology and related areas. The Congress comprises plenary lectures presented by outstanding scientists including Nobel Laureates, a range of subject-specific symposia to provide the latest updates in different areas of bioscience research, extensive poster communications, and a variety of interesting workshops and other activities on related topics. The Congress is held annually in countries that have a Constituent Society of FEBS, moving to a different location each year.
