Nakajima ParkThis park, where the change of the seasons can be felt, is popular with city residents. Ducks can be seen in the park's pond, and there are many facilities including a literature museum and a concert hall.

   

Water GardenA small stream for playing in water in a spacious area. This shallow waterway, where clean water runs, is popular among families with small children. Water runs from 9:00 to 17:00 between mid-June and mid-September.

 

Makomanai ParkA park extensive enough to encompass a stadium and an arena. There are well-maintained paths that are suitable for walking and used by many people.

Former Hokkaido Government Office BuildingFormer Hokkaido Government Office Building, popularly known as Red Brick (Akarenga). Heisei Poplar AvenueAn approximately 0.1 miles line of poplar trees newly planted in 2000. This is a nice spot, infrequently visited by tourists, from where Hokkaido University’s farms are seen.

Model BarnEstablished in 1876 as Hokkaido’s first practical farm for livestock farming management. The farm is designated as a national important cultural asset, and its livestock barns and other facilities are preserved as they used to be.

Ginkgo AvenueGinkgo Avenue, an approximately 0.2 miles road lined with 70 ginkgo trees, is one of the tourist spots in Hokkaido University. In autumn, it transforms into a golden tunnel, attracting many people.

Hokkaido Governor’s Official ResidenceA structure that was built in 1936 as a guesthouse of Mitsui Zaibatsu (a large Japanese industrial conglomerate), and is registered as a tangible cultural asset. It is still used for conferences and receiving guests, and is open to the public when there is no event on.

6.2 miles (10 km)Nakajima Park – Munich Bridge CourseEnjoy the season running next to waterA course using the Toyohiragawa Cycling Road. This well-maintained road without traffic lights is easy to run. The Toyohira River has a lot of water, and is a limpid stream where salmon swim upstream.

7.5 miles (12 km)Hokkaido University Periphery CourseA course that circles Hokkaido University, Japan’s largest campus, plus places of interest in SapporoHokkaido University boasts of a large campus extending north and south. In this course, you can see many interesting sites on the campus from fairly close up including the farms, Poplar Avenue, in addition to the spots in previous 3.1 mile course. It is full of charms of expansive Hokkaido.

3.1 miles (5 km)Odori Park West Side Strolling CourseYou can enjoy many places of interest in Sapporo in a short time!This is a rich course that passes through Odori Park against the TV Tower, and goes around Shiryokan (Former Sapporo Court of Appeals), Hokkaido Governor’s Official Residence, Botanic Garden, Clock Tower and the Akarenga (Former Hokkaido Government Office Building).

11.1 miles (18 km)Nakajima Park – Makomanai Park CourseTo Makomanai Park, a venue for the Sapporo Winter OlympicsThe Sapporo Winter Olympics were held in 1972. This course leads to Makomanai Park, the main venue of the Olympics. Along the way, you can see Mt. Moiwa, which commands fine views of Sapporo. Sapporo Salmon Museum is also in Makomanai Park.
