an internship in a foreign country. Our cooperation with

distinguished partners and companies enables us to

university careers.

Volunteer Program: This program supports non-profit

and governmental organizations in Latin America and

Spain through volunteers who contribute with knowledge,

operational skills and readiness to help in these associa-

tions. You will be immersed in a new environment andlearn about the language and the reality of the destina-

tion you choose.

Teach at Home: This program is about intercultural

exchange. You will learn Spanish while teaching your

mother tongue to your host family during your stay in

exchange for room and board

Work & Travel Argentina: This program is for students

or young professionals, and you will interact with anotherculture, gain professional experience in your study area,

enrich your resume and share the argentinean culture.

You will get paid a local salary.

Au-Pair: This program gives you the chance of experi-

encing the daily life of a Spanish family and gaing further

insight into the Spanish culture. The fundamental idea of

this program is that you will babysit as a nanny in

exchange for full board accommodation and additional

Volunteer Program

Internship Program

Internships are the best way of acquiring work experi- 

ence in your field while learning a new language. This 

program gives you the opportunity to gain professional 

work experience, learn a new language, meet and relate 

to new and diverse people, through getting a job in an 

organization within your profession or university field of 

study.

Standard Internships: You should apply to one of the

placements available within the professional areasoffered by our host institutions.

 

Customized Internships: This implies a specialized

search according to your expectations within the area in

which you would like to develop your professional

experience, the type of position to undertake, and based

on the tasks you would like to do.

The volunteer program contributes to the development of 

young people by offering an opportunity to become 

actively involved in a community with specific needs. You 

can participate in a wide variety of projects related to 

social, educational, environmental or restoration fields.

Volunteering is a unique experience that will give you 

great insight into different social contexts.

Intercultural Programs

Both programs include: Internship position/ 

Volunteer placement; paperwork editting and/or transla-

tion of the letter of intent and resume, pre-departure

orientation; 24-hour emergency telephone number;

welcome pack with important information about the

placement and location; permanent tutorship and

guidance from our representatives in each location;

social and cultural activities with other participants. Free

Internet access, mailbox and fax reception.

Dates and Length of our Internships and

Volunteer programs: Our internship and volunteer

placements are available all year long. The maximum

length is 12 months and the minimum commitment is of

2 months. Once the application documents are received,

it takes a minimum of 8 weeks to confirm the placement.

All our placements require intermediate level of Spanish.

 

Classes for Volunteers and Interns

(Optional): Four Spanish group lessons with empha-

sis on grammar and general communication and two

complementary lessons which focus on the specific

topics you will be dealing with such as politeness,telephone conversations, presentation, writing and

speaking skills. These lessons not included in placement

Work & Travel Argentina

Teach at HomeThe Teach at Home Program has been created for 

young people who want to get a deep insight into the 

local culture. This program includes sharing daily life 

with a host family, learning their language and culture 

and adopting it as their own for a period of time. At the 

same time, the participants will share their own 

language and culture with the members of the local 

family.

This program includes: Placement in a host family;room and board in exchange for 15 lessons per week;

COINED permanent tutorship; orientation workshop

and material upon arrival; 24-hour emergency phone

number; access to social and cultural activities.

Meant for people willing to have a different travel experi- 

ence. With the Work & Travel Program participants will be able to develop their potential by working in an argentin- 

ean organization.

This program includes: A work placement in an argen-

tinean organization; Working visa arrangements; Airport

arrival reception; Transfer from airport to accommodation;

4 weeks accommodation in student’s residence, shared

room; Information material; Program supervision and

administration; City Tour and social and cultural activities;

The accommodation will be charged from 10 AM on the first day requested. The check-in to the assigned accommodation must be made from 10AM to 12 PM or 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday and students must leave the accommodation until 10 AM on Saturday. If the check in and check out timesare not fulfilled, COINED will charge the corresponding additional days. If students do not arrive within the stipulated times, COINED does notguarantee that someone will be waiting for them. Students arriving between 10 PM and 6 AM will be received only if the arrival time has been dulycommunicated to our representatives or to the emergency cell phone number 96 hs in advance and if the transfer service has been hired.Otherwise, students will have to wait to be received in the accommodation during the scheduled reception times previously mentioned.

REGISTRATION

- An advanced deposit of U$S 150 is required. This amount will be deducted from the total cost ofthe program when full payment is made.- The deposit can be made in COINED’s bank account or by credit card. But an extra charge of 5%

PAYMENT

- In order to confirm a reservation, a minimum payment of U$S 150 is required. The payment canbe made through a wire transfer or credit card online payment. Please remember to clearly indicatethe name of the beneficiary, personal information and the purpose of the payment. If you want topay through wire transfer, please send email asking for bank account details [email protected]. It is possible to make the payment online through Pay Pal athttp://www.intercoined.org/payment or with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Diners andAmerican Express. Please clearly indicate the exact amount authorized to charge to the credit card.

CANCELLATIONS

- Cancellations are applicable to Spanish Courses, Accommodation and Fees. - Full payment of theprogram must be received at least 2 weeks before the course starts. If COINED does not receivethe payment, we will cancel the booking and keep the initial deposit. The bank charges will beincurred by the student. - Cancellation fees are as follows: a) 5 weeks before the course starts, no

charges; b) 2 weeks to 5 weeks before the course starts, lose deposit of U$S 150; c) Less than 2weeks, 30% of the program + deposit of U$S 150; d) After the course has started, no refundsprovided. - All refunds have an administrative charge of 10% on the amount refunded. - Cancella -tions are valid only when they are made by email to the following address:[email protected] by letter or fax. In each case, cancellation fees and administrativecharges are applicable. - COINED will not review its cancellation policies in any situation, even ifcancellations are due to personal emergencies, illnesses, or accidents. - All students must hold amedical insurance before starting the course. - In order to assure a pleasant stay, COINED hasestablished behavior rules applicable at the school, accommodation as well as Volunteer, Internshipor any other COINED program. In case of breaking the rules, COINED has the right to cancel theprogram with no refund possibilities. For details, see www.intercoined.org/rules

INTERCULTURAL PROGRAMS

- Cancellation fees are as follows: a) Cancellation made prior to the internship position is confirmed,lose deposit of U$S 150; b) after the internship position is confirmed and 12 weeks before theinternship starts, a minimum cancellation fee of U$S 65 applies and lose the deposit of U$S 150; c)after the internship position is confirmed and 6 weeks before the internship starts, lose the depositof U$S 150 and 50% of the program costs incurred; d) after the internship position is confirmed andless than 6 weeks before the internship starts, lose the deposit of U$S 150 and 75% of the programcosts incurred; e) after the internship has started, no refund provided. The program begins when theparticipant starts to make use of COINED’s services (eg. Transfer service or first meeting with theCOINED tutor). - In the case that and an Internship program has to be cancelled or suspended forreasons outside of COINED’s control, COINED offers the participant a program with equivalentterms and conditions. Alternatively, COINED will offer the participant the equivalent economiccompensation providing that the cancellation terms and conditions are satisfied. COINED will notbe held responsibility for any damages caused in the above situation. - The participant isresponsible for notifying COINED in writing of any problems that may occur during the placementperiod within 72 hours that the problem took place. The notifications shall be submitted at the schoolin writing. - Each service that is contracted by the participant during the period of the program hasits own cancellation policy. In the case where the participant wants to cancel a special program orpromotion, the general cancellation policy will apply for the cancellation of the internship program.

PRICES AND CONDITIONS

- The prices of our programs are published in our web page www.intercoined.org/prices. They arevalid from 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2010, and replace any other previous version. - Thecost of the program includes the registration fee and the course chosen. The participant must alsoinclude the cost of other services that may be requested (insurance, accommodation, transferservice, etc). - COINED shall determine the classes schedule depending on availability. Both group

and private classes may take place during the school schedule from 8 AM up to 6 PM, from Mondayto Friday. - COINED shall consider the behavior rules breaking as valid to cancel a participant’sprogram with no refund possibilities. -The COINED conditions do not apply to partner schools. Eachpartner school has its own conditions. For more information, please contact our Head Office. - Thepayment of the registration fee is always required, except if the student attends classes in more than

one COINED’s locations, he/she will only be charged one registration fee. From 2009, COINED willcharge one life time registration fee for courses. - The average number of students per group classis 3 to 4 and the maximum number is 8. The maximum number of students per group class inBuenos Aires and Santiago de Chile is 8. - If there is only one student at a level, he/she will takeindividual classes and there will be a daily reduction of 50% of group class hours. - The price of thecourse includes: a) Study material. b) Placement test. c) The corresponding class hours of thechosen course.

HOLIDAYS

- Please check the holidays of each location at www.intercoined.org/holidays - Classes will not beheld on holidays, and there will not be extra classes to compensate for them. - If there are twoholidays during the same week, there will be an extra class to compensate for one of them. -Holidays change every year; therefore, it is necessary to check on our web sitewww.intercoined.org/holidays in order to be informed about the holidays for the current year. - Ifthere are individual classes on a holiday, there will be always an extra class in the same week tocompensate for this.

ACCOMMODATION

- COINED accommodations have been carefully selected by members of our staff in order toguarantee not only the infrastructure but also the services offered by our host families. The

participants as well as the host families must abide by the rules of conduct given by COINED. - Incase that student’s residences and apartments are fully booked, participants may be placed in othertype of accommodation. - In case of bookings made two weeks before the program starts, COINEDwill not guarantee availability of the accommodation requested by the student since COINED givespriority to bookings made in advance. Moreover, COINED may change the price in order to providean adequate accommodation for the student. - If students are not pleased with the assignedaccommodation, they may request to change it. COINED will make every effort to look for anotheraccommodation of the same type and characteristics when there are valid reasons for such arequest. Any and all accommodation change request must be addressed to the school director viaemail or in writing. According to the accommodation availability, COINED accepts a maximum ofthree changes, each one of which will be processed within a minimum of 72 hours after receipt tomake the accommodation change. - COINED will not pay for changes in accommodation made onthe student’s behalf. If a problem with the accommodation arises, the student should call theappropriate COINED 24 hours emergency phone number. - Even if COINED transfer service is notrequested, the student must always inform COINED about the arrival time and date via e-mail ortelephone at least 72 hs in advance. If the requested information is not provided, COINED can notguarantee that someone will be waiting at the accommodation for the student upon arrival. - Theaccommodation will be charged from 10 AM on the first day requested. The check-in to the

assigned accommodation must be made from 10 AM to 12 PM or 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday andstudents must leave the accommodation until 10 AM on Saturday. If the check-in and check-outtimes are not fulfilled, COINED will charge the corresponding additional days. TRANSFER SERVICE

- Flight details (date, time, airline, and flight number) must be confirmed in writing one week beforearrival, otherwise COINED will not guarantee the transfer service and there will be no refunds forthis service. - If any changes as regards flight details are not duly informed, COINED will not takeresponsibility for the proper provision of the service. - If students arrive at a different time from theone already informed to COINED due to delays, flight changes, etc. COINED will provide thetransfer service but will reserve the right to apply any additional changes if necessary.
