 MODIFIED WIND TURBINE TRIPLE MODES OF POWER SUPPLY MANOJ G & L.MUGUNTHAN  III YEAR Mechanical Krishnasamy College of engineering an !echnology.c"alore [email protected] Mo#ile$ %%''%()() ABSTRACT: If one can accelerate the local wind spe ed by capt uri ng and concent rat ing the wind with some mechanism, there appears the hope for utilizing the wind power in a more effiecient way. By the usage of a short convergent nozzle , the velo ci ty of the wi nd can be increased and thus causing the wind to cross over the blades of the wind mill turbine, with the increased velocity causing the wind tur bine to ro tate at the cons ide ra bl y increased speed and this inturn will increase the efficiency of the wind turbine. Hence the ef fi ci enc y of the wi nd turbine can be increased by this method. In order to make greater utilization of the renewable energy sources, this turbine can be accompanied by methods of power generation from the sun and the tide, so that the efficiency of power generation could be increased to a greater extent. INTRODUCTION: The power being the backb one of  every economy , it is nece ssary for every country to be self suffiecient in the power generation. every industry runs only by holding el ec tri ci ty as its ma in fo od. ven th e automobi les were coming nowadays in electricity in order to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels. hence it is necessary to find efficient methods of power generation. NEED FOR THE RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGY: !urrently, the world depends mainly on the fossil fuels for the power generation. "uels like petroleum, lignite, coal being the ma#or fossil fuels used for power generation. Th ese fu el s caus es lar ge sca le  pollution resulting in global warming, green hous e ef fects and many ill effects. $oreover, the fossil fuels are being the non% renewable resources, they are available only in limited amounts.
