MODERNISATION OF THE PRODUCTION PLANT

In recent years Candico has modernised its production equipment, i.e. modifications to the buildings, infrastructure, machinery and operating systems. With this modernisation Candico wishes to increase its production capacity and comply with the latest food safety regulations.

WHY AGIDENS

Candico has placed its trust in Agidens for 25 years in a wide variety of projects, in-cluding the provision of services. INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project specifications and the Agidens input include:

» Renovation of the buildings (liquids section) in cooperation with 4Takt

» Modernisation of the complete tank farm, piping and compo-nents (with ring system for the highly concentrated liquid candy syrup [84 Brix])

» Steam and condensation distribution in the entire installation

» Integration of 2 sugar melting installations (both designed by Miteco) into the new process and automation environment

» Completely new automation system, including electrical panels, cable works, new PC and PLC architecture as well as batch processing and MES level, with focus on traceability

» New voltage distribution and MCC panels for each part of the project

» Integration of the new Big Bag system into the new process and automation environment

» Up-to-date documentation (functional and technical specifications, operator manual, ...)

» Training (technical and operational)

RESULTS - ADVANTAGES

Agidens has met the objectives and as a consequence of this, Candico is well prepared for its future as a manufacturer of sugar specialities. The new automated installations have made the production process more flexible and increased the availability of the production machinery. Production time has been reduced considerably and a high level of traceability and reporting has been integrated.

Furthermore, this new process complies with the latest food industry standards and regulations . The service department of Agidens’ “Process automation” division offers full 24/7 support for this and other Candico installations, reducing installation shutdowns to the minimum.
