Welcome to ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA @ MWC
Austria scores points as a future-oriented ICT
business location with a remarkable revenue of
EUR 45 billion. It offers the perfect environment
for ICT businesses with its start-up centers,
specialized universities and technology parks.
As in the last 6 years, Austria will be represented
once again at the largest gathering of the mobile
industry, the Mobile World Congress in
Barcelona, with the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA
Lounge at the APP Planet (8.1 B61).
More than 30 Austrian companies are
participating. A third will be present as individual
exhibitors and 20+ companies are participating
as active visitors at our Austria Showcase.

Austria and especially Vienna play a very
important role in the mobile world. This is
because Austrian businessmen recognised the
incredible force of the mobile revolution at a
very early stage and acted accordingly. By
focusing on these new technologies, they have
laid the foundations for Vienna’s international
reputation in this field.
60,000 employees in 5,000 companies, who
together generate revenue of around 20 billion
euros, are working every day to drive the
mobile revolution forward, to develop new
technologies and to open up new fields of
business activity. And yet there is still a lot of
ground to cover: new start-ups are founded in
Vienna on a daily basis which are backed by
young and innovative entrepreneurs who are
already securing the successful future of the
ICT site in Vienna.
I am looking forward to seeing many people
from Austria and Vienna in attendance at this
year’s Mobile World Congress and I am

cause a crash.
