ADVERTISING & DIGITAL AGENCY
• Content delivery - iBeacons don't actually send content. They simply broadcast their UUID, Major, and Minor values. That's it!
• Detection awareness - iBeacons just broadcast. There is no data exchanged between devices which are scanning for beacons and the beacons themselves.
• Immediate detections - iBeacons aren't always immediately noticed. There are a few factors that influence this such as:
- How frequently the beacon broadcasts (varies based on beacon manufacturer or user settings)
- How often the device scans for a beacon (newer iPhones have improved support for BLE, so they will probably be more responsive)• Distance accuracy - distance is always an ESTIMATE. More signals in the air
equals more interference!• Only compatible with Apple devices. Any device that supports BLE can detect
and broadcast.
