Welcome to MMU RacingMMU RacingMMU RacingMMU Racing, a team of passionate and ambi-

4ous engineering students at Manchester Metropolitan Uni-

versity who compete in Formula Student.

motorsport compe44oncompe44oncompe44oncompe44on. The UK compe44on is organised by

the Ins4tu4on of Mechanical Engineers and since its

incep4on in 1998, has become a key tes4ng ground for the

next genera4on of excep4onal engineers.

The UK compe44on takes place in July at Silverstone where

over 100 interna4onal teams compete their single seat racing single seat racing single seat racing single seat racing

4me and are supervised by University Faculty Advisors.

2008, and in only seven years we have risen to 12th in the

UK. Our goalOur goalOur goalOur goal, however, is to become number onenumber onenumber onenumber one.

This year, we will have a lighterlighterlighterlighter, more powerful more powerful more powerful more powerful car, with im-

proved geometry and a centrifugal clutch. We are also con-

4nuing to research research research research alterna4ve concepts, including extensive

tes4ng for a monocoque design monocoque design monocoque design monocoque design in the near future.

and will have a higher power to weight ra4o than a Porsche
